It may go beyond the left. I’ve seen some scary defenses of him right here on Free Republic at different times on different issues.

Not at all surprised...for a variety of reasons. One is that he got reelected, and that race was the dominant story of 2012. Second, is the media is always going to use their available tools to spread propaganda favoring their views. Third is that I cannot think of another person or event this year that would get this award. It has really been a crappy year all around. Other than the Olympics in summer, it has been a genuinely un-enjoyable year with little notable stories other than tabloid type news and disasters.
The cult worship continues.
Personally I was prepared for it. Who else would they choose?

There are at least a billion more deserving people in the world, and Time chooses the one that is bringing the U.S. to its destruction.
However, I can understand why O’dufus got the title, since, there have been other less than desirable people in the past who got the “honor”.
