time.com ^ | December 19, 2012 | Michael Scherer

Posted on 12/19/2012 5:13:12 AM PST by John W

Twenty-seven years after driving from New York City to Chicago in a $2,000 Honda Civic for a job that probably wouldn’t amount to much, Barack Obama, in better shape but with grayer hair, stood in the presidential suite on the top floor of the Fairmont Millennium Park hotel as flat screens announced his re-election as President of the United States.

Not at all surprised...for a variety of reasons. One is that he got reelected, and that race was the dominant story of 2012. Second, is the media is always going to use their available tools to spread propaganda favoring their views. Third is that I cannot think of another person or event this year that would get this award. It has really been a crappy year all around. Other than the Olympics in summer, it has been a genuinely un-enjoyable year with little notable stories other than tabloid type news and disasters.

This guy is a cult figure to the left

Some might say he's much more than that: Revelation 13:11-18

Say what???

How does Chavez feel about this?

What about Castro?

Just because they’re in their death beds is no reason to gift the title to O’dumbo.

Lenin and Stalin and Hitler are probably in their graves wondering what they have to do to get Time’s attention. They led the way for O’bummer, so, shouldn’t they have gotten higher consideration?

Did the people at Time consider how Ambassador Steven would feel about this selection?

There are at least a billion more deserving people in the world, and Time chooses the one that is bringing the U.S. to its destruction.

However, I can understand why O’dufus got the title, since, there have been other less than desirable people in the past who got the “honor”.

Why not. He is firearms salesman of the year.

And I think he is purposely pursuing that honor. That way the admin, Congress, the MSM, the obamaphone users and the rest of the usual suspects will know on whom to pin the blame for the Mother of all Reichtag Fires.

To be fair, he is the symbol of everything this year was about: lukewarm campaigning, economic malaise, lack of employment, anymosity towards the free market and employers, public sector growth, gun control, etc., etc., etc.

No offense intended, but that PC sham they called the olympics was a leftist love fest of smoldering dung proportions.

Even the islami jihadi was so enamored by its fawning that they did not assault it.

anymosity towards the free market and employers

Boy you are on-target there, and I missed it.

The economy did not recover and lingering bitterness from the Crash of '08 persisted. In hindsight, probably by Obama's design. Voters who were bitter and angry at bankers and capitalists were far more motivated than the rest of us, it seems. Since the country has not experienced this since the 1930's I think we got caught unprepared.

Just an observation, but zippy is not the killer. He is simply the lucky stiff who is there at the end. The electorate and its politicians have been working this angle since before reconstruction.

See Henry Clay and the American Plan.

FDR did the most long term recent damage, while peanuthead and slick willie added their knives in the form of the CRA.

zippy is here at the end. the won is merely the one finishing off the strangle, twisting the last blade, delivering the coup de gras.

The American Experiment in self government, self reliance, individual responsibility, the primacy of free individual volition is..........

I am rushing out to buy a copy of TIME, so I will have the cover to photocopy and use as multiple targets at the range.
Great motivator for increased accuracy.
