The mother of Newtown school massacre gunman Adam Lanza was a survivalist who was stockpiling food because she thought the world economy was on the verge of collapse.
Nancy Lanza began hoarding such items because she feared that the financial crisis was going to bring about the end of civilized society.
She reportedly became 'obsessed' with guns and taught Adam how to shoot, but on Friday he turned on her and blasted the woman to death while she laid in her own bed.
Law enforcement sources told the Hartford Courant that she had not gotten up - and could have even been asleep - when her son killed her.
The killer's aunt said Nanzy Lanza was 'self-reliant.'
Speaking from her home near Chicago, Marsha Lanza, 57, said: 'She was stockpiling food. We talked about prepping a lot. She was getting ready for the economic collapse.
'I think she had the guns for self-defense because she lived alone.'

Well here we go....they’ve got their link. Self-reliance will be considered “anti-social” and therefore a crime in the socialist government of the formerly free USA that was brought to greatness by self-reliant people.
and their loyal fellow MSM employees are using (taking advantage of) these shootings to help them disarm the citizens. Their steadfast refusal to deal with causes and instead focus entirely on getting rid of guns is like they "arrange" the shootings IMO.

You, sir or madame, are full of crap. That murderous little brad should have been locked up in and asylum. Those kind of mental health "issues" should not be loosed upon society. Unfortunately, asylums for the insane have fallen out of fashion due to those like you who want all of society to bend to the lunatics instead of the insane being cared for in a secure environment.
I tend to agree with you, but I’ve been criticized for making similar statements. If you’ve got a dangerous nut in the house, I think it should be treated the same as if someone in the house is a felon. The other members of the household should have to store their guns off the premises and in a manner such that the nut can’t get to them easily.
I really don’t like it any more than anyone else, but when the common thread in many of these incidents seems to be a known psycho getting their hands on a gun far too easily. Unfortunately, I think this is at least one step we’re going to have to strongly consider.
I respectfully disagree. I believe that they have just as much of a right to be armed as anyone else, however, they should not let their children, especially those who are mentally ill, around any of the weapons.
