With all due respect, Israeli firearms laws are quite restrictive, actually more restrictive than they are here in the Czech Republic where I currently reside.
The Israel Dept. of the Interior makes notification to the general public the requirements necessary for the obtaining of a permit to possess a firearm:
1. Applicant must be a permanent resident of Israel for 3 consecutive years prior to making application for a firearms permit.
2. Applicant years of age (27 for the general public, 21 for military personnel).
3. The permit request must be for personal use, not to engage in the business of firearms sales.
4. Applicant must fall into one of the following categories:
a. Part-time reservist (volunteer) for 3 years- may own 1 handgun
b. Such a reservist (volunteer) is a member of a gun club- may own 1 rifle
c. Professional, licensed public transportation driver, transporting a minimum of 5 passengers- may own 1 handgun
d. Licensed animal control officer- may own 2 hunting rifles, NOT full automatic weapons, or semi-automatic weapons with a limited capacity magazine.
e. Full-time dealer of jewelry or large sums of cash or valuables-may own 1 handgun
West Bank and Gaza Strip Settlers:
1. A resident in a militarily strategic buffer zone, essential to the security of the State of Israel- may own 1 handgun
2. A business owner in these geographic areas- may own 1 handgun
Veterans:
1. Veterans of the Regular Army honorably discharged with the rank of non-commissioned officer, and veterans of the Reserve Army with the rank of regimental commander- may own 1 handgun
2. Retired law enforcement officers with the rank of sergeant- may own 1 handgun
3. Retired prison guards with the rank of squadron commander- may own 1 handgun
Individuals:
Upon presenting documentation that one is about to receive a souvenir, a prize, an inheritance, or an award of appreciation from the Israeli military.

The school was a “gun-free zone” - it took the police 10 MINUTES to get there after the 911 was called in.
So for 10 MINUTES the only firearm in that whole school was possessed by a crazed gunman.

Liberals want more failure.
The want stronger Gun Control laws, even though Connecticut’s strong Gun Laws failed miserably at Sandy Hook
They also want more rights for the Mentally Ill (disguised in the form of “more treatment”). Liberal ideas in the way the Mentally Ill are handled have led to way too many drugs, psychiatrists, and psychologists. It also uses Mental Illness as an excuse to get away with a crime.
Liberal ideas are a main factor in these tragedies. We need to take a stand against such repeated stupidity
Absolutely true. Leftists are incapable of rational, linear though. Reason and logic -- in other words, cold, hard FACTS -- cannot dissuade them from the soft "feelings" they cling to. In fact, they'll just double down on illogic when they're challenged by reason.
Case in point? Obama's stimulus. The Leftists believe that it failed not because the entire premise is economically untenable, but because they didn't make it STRONG enough.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but it’ll never happen here. Much of the country will never go for arming the teachers and especially the students.
I think we need a more mainstream approach, and that would be for a government mandate for schools to provide armed security guards. Enough to put two at each entrance and to have at least one walking each hall constantly. If that requires a tax to pay for it, fair enough.
If the government is going to twist our arms to put our kids in public schools, then they damn well should be expected to provide quality security for them. The current gun-free model has proven to be a disaster.
Leftists, liberals, and progressives both train, and are trained, to respond to weapons ... with posturing that puts them in a perspective of “abhoring weapons” as viewed by their social circles.
They train people, more correctly, they cajole and coerce to get people to shrink back, instead of to respond with knowledge.
I point out to liberals, that they may “abhor firearms,” but they should know how to disassemble and make useless, firearms, for the day when such a weapon may be made so, and thus save lives.
They always reply, “I never thought of that.”
That they may be in a bank, where a guard and perp scuffle, and the perps weapon comes sliding across the floor to this liberal’s feet.
They never think about, what they should do, when confronted. That appears to be part of their nature, to react by looking around to find something or somebody to blame.
They do not want the responsibility of civic duty, all the while they preach what is other people’s civic duty ... but then duty calls *them.*
And they posture, instead of standing up for human responsible agency *on their part.*
I am beginning to realize, that I’ve not met a true liberal for individual rights, since the 1960’s. Every liberal met, since then, is a control fanatic, nearly desparate to be perceived highly, by their taking politically-correct steps to reduce *the character to stand up* in other people around them.
Liberals these days, have almost no tolerance of individual liberty, no tolerance of human responsible agency, no tolerance of the sovereignty of the people.
Liberals whom I know, resent freedom of choice, they resent the powers of our individual states, indeed, they seem to resent anything that avails an individual to be *not* like-minded with these liberals.
The only reason that they tolerate me, is because they know that God is strong in my heart, and I am so-guided to do the right thing, and that, I will stand up and resist bullies, oppression, thugs, and politicos who seek our subjigation.
They also understand, that I know well, what weapons can do, and I respect the science; that I have no affection for weapons, other than my sense of profound duty to uphold the memory of all who dared to stand up for our liberty, by meeting the call to Arms.
I owe our worthy founding fathers and *our* fathers and mothers, to not lay down our Arms.
Everyone is talking about guns. The parents were divorced. For how long? Let’s talk about single mothers raising kids. And reportedly the younger son had a personality disorder and may have been taking meds? If true this did the mother knowingly keep guns in the house? Were they under lock and key?
Wonder what the fascists think of the fact that cars kill more people than guns,do we out law cars?
There’s not much physically you can do to stop an insane person bent on killing. A mother can strap the kids into car seats and drive the car into a lake. How do you stop that? A person with some brains can figure out how to kill lots of people without using a gun. We want simple solutions, but there aren’t any. I grew up a liberal Democrat. I even argued for gun control at one point in my life. I don’t anymore. Especially not after Waco. How many innocent American children did Bill Clinton kill at Waco, Texas using American military armored fighting vehicles? I know the dirty little thought that is in every Democrat leader’s mind.

Harry Belafonte went from singing about bananas on tv to advocating that Obama send Republicans to concentration camps. That’s how Democrats, liberals, socialists, progressives think. As a former gun control advocate, let me say that what we will always need, is Democrat Control. And if you want to know why Bill and Hillary drink so much, it’s to drown out the screams of the children from Waco.
Strong gun laws always tip the scale to the advantage of the bad guys.
