ESPNs Rob Parker dropped a bombshell today when he called NFL rookie star and MVP candidate Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III a cornball brother. That means, according to Parker, that RGIII isnt a real black person, and that he might not be one of us or down for the cause.
What was his justification? RGIII is engaged to a white woman, and could be a Republican.
Seriously.

If, in fact, RGIII is a Republican, or at least, conservative guy, it wouldn’t surprise me. I haven’t heard him or anyone else definitively say he is, thought.
This could be his “calling out”. He may come out tomorrow and say he’s a big Obama fan. I think if he says it, it’s true, not because he’s afraid of anything.

Rob Parker
Black Biggot
and all around Black Trash.
Same here and I'll confess that my Thanksgiving wasn't ruined when the otherwise hated Redskins beat the 'Boys. Robert Griffin III was amazing and, as he mentioned during the post-game presser, certainly captured the eye of owner Jerry Jones. The scrambling and improvisational ability of both RG3 and Johnny Manziel certainly add to the excitement of the game.
“Down with the cause” = “bankrupting the united states”.
Maybe if RGIII played the nock out game on weekends he could redeem himself in Mr. Parkers eyes.
ESPN can shove it.

The scuttlebutt from a friend of mine who’s a Baylor alumna and lives down in Texas was that RG3’s public decent-guy persona is the real deal. He is what he looks like, a solid person and intelligent young man in addition to being an amazing quarterback. (The fact he’s giving my Redskins hope for the first time in several years also helps me like the guy, admittedly.)
I wonder if Rob Parker thinks crybaby Cam Newton—a hot topic down here in Charlotte—is a “real brotha.”
And yeah, racist Wilbon is between a rock and a hard place right now. Of course, I seriously doubt PTI will ever mention it, ESPN wouldn’t want to eat their own.

Parker is a racist. He is judging Griffin based solely on race and not on his talent or character. He is worse than Limbaugh ever was and he has not been fired yet? What is wrong with this picture?
Why wouldn’t every football player in the NFL be a Republican? Who’s the one coming after their money? It’s not the Republicans that’s for sure...
Spot on.

Detroit News columnist Rob Parker really doesn't appear on my radar screen much, except for this infamous column, and of course his work on the dearly departed Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith. So that's two strikes against him right there. But now comes the news that he apparently fabricated sources that said a Michigan State quarterback was involved in a recent assault of another student. He first defended his statement, made this past Sunday on the WDIV-TV Sports Final Edition show that he co-hosts, and then backtracked and apologized for the whole thing today. Parker had said on the air that Kirk Cousins, a backup quarterback for Michigan State, was involved in a fight between Michigan State football and hockey players at a party in East Lansing. One problem: Cousins' parents who live in Holland, Mich. say that their son was at home all that evening. MSU head coach Mark Dantonio was also not amused.
He did it to the Lions too. That’s why I called him DMF.
Not following the 'Skins I *thought* RGIII was another Michael Vick -- all Hype.
Now I'll have to Root For Him!
Full Disclosure: I *really* don't like the Skins. When they play 'The Boys' I always root for Dallas.
[ps: Go Bears!] (or better, go Lovie and Mike Tice - please. You two are killin' Jay Cutler)
They didn’t fire the drunken turd Dana Jacobsen for what
she said. They just let her contract run out!
And they fired Rush Limbaugh for saying what?
Given RGIII’s eloquence, this is how I would respond if UI was him:
“Mr. Parker, while you have the right under our Constitution to say whatever you wish about me, a real man would know that my political views are nobody’s business but mine. A real man would know better than to judge my relationship with my wife-to-be by the color of our skin instead of the content of our characters and the strength of our love. And a man with a brain bigger than a lima bean would be able to figure out that racist rhetoric is still pathetic and evil when it comes out of a black man’s mouth. In short, sir, engage in coprophagia.”
You make a big mistake.
Look at the riots that happened in London last year. That showed that an underclass that can’t and won’t function without government bennies is a result of culture, not color.
If there’s something you don’t like about contemporary blacks, it comes from liberalism.
but, unfortunately, not fired, owing to the lax standards for journalists. Parker's assignment, first and foremost, was to tell the truth, so he lied.
But then, getting easy grades while "shaping the truth" is half the reason people "study" journalism.
Rob Parker, the journalistic slacker, is just jealous of a smart decent man who gives his heart and soul to his work and unlike Parker, is comfortable in his own skin.
Rob Parker must really hate the Washington Redskins, having falsely accused BOTH of their quarterbacks, Kirk Cousins AND RGIII.
But then, maybe that’s just Parker’s typical work product.
