To make it worse, the money is over and above receipts. The government has really spent much, much more.

Does that much debt make me a slave...or is it just the fact that I have to work so others don’t have to?

A $Million is a fairly large amount of money. A $Billion is a lot of money. A $Trillion is unimaginable and beyond comprehension.

I’m giving each of my kids a 100 trillion dollar bill banknote as a stocking-stuffer for Christmas. Cost? $1.07 apiece on Amazon.com. That’s how worthless our money will be if we keep handing the levers of power to people like Barack Obama.

But with a $4.99 shipping charge each???!? Considering that you can stick a couple dozen in a single envelope for a 45¢ stamp, the seller could make a lot of profit just giving them away for free (+$4.99 shipping).

Just Obama? Name a time in US history where the US Govt. (Republipukes and DemoCraps) did not particpate in deficit spending.

No offense, but this partisanship is part of the reason we (US citizens/taxpayers) are in debt. Because the politicians of both parties exploit your partisanship to their gain and our demise.

The only 'Us. vs. Them' that really matters is the taxpayers vs. the government.

The video should color the stacks based on which president created the debt.

To put this another way:

1 million seconds = about 11 days

1 Billion seconds = about 32 years

1 Trillion seconds = 32,000 years!

Sobering to think that our elected princes have lost sight of the real debt (16 T) versus the promised, future debt.
That could be 100 T +) Meanwhile, the king admits that he is not so good at arithmetic and can’t help his daughters with theirs.

"1 million seconds = about 11 days...1 Billion seconds = about 32 years...1 Trillion seconds = 32,000 years!"

Or as I have heard it described, most people have a reasonably good idea of what they'll be doing in a million seconds, very little idea of what they'll be doing in a billion seconds, and know precisely what they'll be doing in a trillion seconds. :-)

At 1million dollars a day you would have to start at about 700 BC, about the time of founding of Rome to spend a trillion dollars ......
