Gov. Lincoln Chafee (I-R.I.) told CNSNews.com on Wednesday that his administration calls the decorated evergreen tree erected in the Rhode Island State House in December a “holiday tree”—rather than a “Christmas tree”—because that is what the tree is traditionally called. …

The now-annual ‘War on Christmas’ is absurd. In a nation where atheists comprise less than 10% of the population it is insane that they have the kind of influence they appear to have on politicians. Bickering over calling a Christmas tree what it is simply underscores the insanity. That the 90% of Americans who observe Christmas allow this rubbish from a tiny minority to fester and grow worse every year is remarkable.
If every true Christian would sit home just 1 December the merchants would get the message. When I am wished happy holiday’s I cancel the purchase of their over priced cheap chinse junk and tell them when they return CHRIST to CHRISTmas I’ll do CHRISTmas shopping in their stores. Mine is done before Dec 1.
How about “a tree for the Federal Holiday created by President U.S. Grant... the Holiday Grant called ‘Christmas’!”?

Well when I was in school, in the olden days, we had Christmas vacation and Easter break and they were TRADITIONAL Holidays. What we have now is politically correct pandering to atheists. What I don’t understand is if they don’t believe in GOD why are they so angry that we do?
Now if they called it a display of a homeless mom, they could show the Nativity. It’s OK with me what they call it. We know what is.
