New York's Gabriel Sherman reports that Fox News is scaling back airtime for Republican pundit Karl Rove, in what appears to be a reprimand for Rove's meltdown during the network's live election broadcast.
Sources told Sherman that Fox News chief Roger Ailes has ordered his staff to bench Rove and his fellow GOP pundit Dick Morris, two of the network's most vocal partisan voices whose predictions turned out to be spectacularly wrong. According to Sherman, producers must now get permission before booking Rove or Morris on Fox shows.
The move comes as Fox takes steps to rehab its image in the wake of Republican defeats this November. Rove, in particular, has been widely mocked by members of both parties, both for his onscreen tantrum and for the abysmal performance of his American Crossroads super PAC.

At least he didn’t say anti-NRA stuff, right?
It won’t be long and they will be like the rest of them.
How was Rove supposed to know that the commie ‘RATS would take their voter fraud to such a massive level? It’s not Rove’s fault.
I still won’t watch FOX.
but they keep Sally Khon or Kohn on, a homosexual activist, a media matters ex worker, a soros plant and a big anti war, women who pretends to be a guy.
How about FOX doing investigative work into the msasive voter fraud, no poll or anyone could have called this election after how this election was rigged.
And the studio set gained 1500 feet in altitude after the weight was released.
Karl who?
In Texas don’t they call a guy like that a piss ant?
I’m no Rove fan, but he was correct if discussing a non fraudlent election. And of course, Fox or any other outlet will not openly discuss the rampant fraud.
They didn’t.
Sure there was -some- fraud, but not massive fraud as you suggest.
The stupid party just got its ass aboslutely kicked.
you beat me to it.
The amount of fraud in this election was hardly reported, FOX shilled for Romney to take Newt out and no one coudl have called this election after how this election was rigged.
Still I suppose we all ignore how big their fraud was, how Mia iove, Col West was robbed amongst others.
I;m no fan of Rove but for crying out loud how about FOX reporting on some facts and doing investigative work for a change or are we supposed to watch a bunch of blond air heads like Megyn Kelly who brings her pal the homo activist, media matters on named Sally Khon and then ole PC Gretchen Carlson who can;t say anything without mentioing how women are better than men and how PC she is but then complains how America is to PC
he can go into hiding with Mittens
and please take W with you
I just watched that video what am I missing? All he said was, ‘lets not rush to judgment here.’
there was a load of fraud and anyone saying that in the swong states that fraud didn’t matter has their head up their ass.
Patriot08 has many links to this fraud after her hard work it.
I can’t stand Rove but I didn’t see a meltdown
Good. And, I cannot listen to Sean anymore: his calling Rove “the Architect” makes me sick.
The only fault I can find with Rove on this is he didn’t understand that 2012 was going to be a Chicago-style “election”. More dead people than all three seasons of “The Walking Dead”. Saddam Hussein would have been embarrassed by this much fraud.
I have reasons I don’t like Rove, so I won’t miss him. Actually, I hardly watch Fox anymore so I wouldn’t miss him anyway.
I will be sure and tune in, though, when Fox does its expose’ report on all those precincts that had 110% turnout at the polls.
When these “pundits” predict a huge victory for a candidate, I think it tends to suppress the vote; makes people tend to think it’s in the bag, so why bother to vote. - I suspect that’s why Obama had the waterworks going; because he was likely afraid his network hadn’t done enough to counter the huge number of people who are sick of him. - Now the Republicans in Congress and the same “pundits” have diagnosed their “problem” as being extremist Conservatives - and, once again, they’re wrong.
I agree - Rove did *not* “melt down” as the article suggests in that video. It is a ridiculous claim.
Rove and Morris were a bit too much every night, but I can listen to them without getting in a RAGE.
done and DONE!
I watched this live as it went down.. I HATE Megyn Kelly! Oh, where were we.. ANYWAY, Rove was right at the time.. Kelly was getting hot and excited about 0bama winning and seemed to will it to be so. She had her orders from up on high to ramrod 0bama down our throats for another four years. Damn B***CH. BUT, OBAMA’S GREAT FOR FOX’S RATINGS FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS, ISN’T IT...
As I said there was -some- fraud, there was not -massive- fraud.
And the -some- fraud that there was will not be addressed or even discussed by the pathetic, piss poor, useless GOP, and the preceeding description is exactly why they got their asses kicked by the worst president in the history of America.
And the same thing is going to happen in 2014 and 2016.
BS!!! Rove did not have a meltdown. I just watched the video on that
I’ve gotten to the point that I can’t stand Megyn Kelly. She talks so fast I wouldn’t doubt she’s on speed. And on election night she went skipping across the set like a little school girl. That was it for me.
I believe Rove melted down not because he was wrong. But because he was watching his career being destroyed by voter fraud.
I saw no animosity toward anyone and understand why Rove wanted confirmation - I would have done the same to make sure the reporting was correct about my candidate.
Understand, I think Rove was a severe promoter of Romney and he was determined Romney would get as much money as Rove could get to him, and I could have kicked Rove because he was such a liberal that he wanted liberal Romney. A pox on Rove, but he was making sure the numbers were right.
They should have pulled him after what he did to Christine O’Donnell on the night that she won her primary, and how he did everything he could to throw ice water on her momentum during that week.
He really went after the tea party that year and hurt us bad.
People associate him with Bush, which is not helping our cause.
Bus insider is a left wing owned and operated Dem front group ,
The owner is a huge Obama bot .
I doubt they know a thing but they will cook up a phony story like this one .
‘How was Rove supposed to know that the commie RATS would take their voter fraud to such a massive level?...’
Agree. and, imho, Rove didn’t have meltdown on Election night, he was telling the Fox ‘analysts’ that they may be calling states too early. I thought the same! But, perhaps, I was more cynical than Rove....I knew the libs/Dems would do WHATEVER they had to do in order to claim victory.
It’s this left wing rag making up a story .
It’s pure Dem media crap .
All major conservative talk show hosts were way off in their predictions as to the winner of the Presidency.
It is wise for we conservatives to take conservative hosts with a little more skepticism.
I, too, watched as it happened and was VERY UNHAPPY with Fox. Actually, I called the Station that night and, let’s say, my comments were in CAPS!
Rove will not be missed.
Now...if they would just get rid of Alan Colmes, Juan Williams, and Bob Beckel...I would be ecstatic!
Rove got everything he wanted and lost.
Rove is a LOSER!!!
RE: Now...if they would just get rid of Alan Colmes, Juan Williams, and Bob Beckel...I would be ecstatic!
What about the MOTTO “Fair” and “Balanced”?
RE: This action by Fox is not surprising as both Rove and Morris were way off as political prognosticators. Their performance will really hurt their respective businesses.
Well, in this case, they should not invite Michael Barone during election season as well. He was WAY OFF too. for that matter, even Scott Rasumussen and the Gallup folks should be personan non grata in the next election season.
So, who to invite? NATE SILVER of the New York Times? He was spot on ( always has been ).
Barbra Streisand!
Too of the most Partisan and Most Incorrect.
Great news! Rove is a POS phony. Although he does not piss me off quite as much as John McCain.

It didn't have to be massive, really. It had to be targeted to districts where no one would question the fraud, where GOP observers could be removed and no one would stop that, and it had to be in swing states.
What could not be obtained through machine conversions (vote one, get a vote for the other counted--as we are assured not difficult for those who know the electronic machines) could be obtained through the time honored methods of not counting some votes, and stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent votes.
IIRC, the needed number of votes was roughly 100,000 in each of the 4 states which Barry carried. Look at the Fla fraud against Rep. West, and you get the picture of what can be done in a district, more so in a state.
Did the Republican vote not show up, or did the votes just not count? As polarized and charged as the election was, as strong as the distaste for Obama and his policies, and especially on the heels of Benghazi, do you consider it likely that a few million fewer voters went out and voted GOP? Or did their votes just go down the memory hole?
Well, that motto is better than MSNBC’s:
FAIRY and UNBALANCED
I’m not ashamed to say I thought Morris would be proven to be the smartest guy on the planet the day after the election. But I did expect he’d be relegated to the doghouse if he was wrong.
This ‘Grace Wyler’ must have a radically different definition of “meltdown” than I do. I watched the video and saw no meltdown. You want to see a meltdown? Watch me go off on libertarians some time.
Better late than never. Worst things that have happened to republicans, and in many ways to the entire country, are the Bush family and their GOPe makeover. Rove is them. We are here because of them.
HAHAHA....so long, Gerber Baby!
