Anti-gun sports columnist Jason Whitlock: ‘The NRA Is the New KKK’ [AUDIO]
The Daily Caller ^ | 12/03/2012 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 12/04/2012 11:34:53 AM PST by neverdem

On CNN contributor Roland Martin’s podcast posted to his website Monday, Jason Whitlock, the columnist who inspired Bob Costas’ commentary on gun control during halftime of Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game on NBC, revealed his peculiar take on the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Whitlock spoke out against the NFL’s handling of the aftermath of Jovan Belcher’s suicide and gun issues in his Sunday FoxSports.com column. During Martin’s podcast, he likened the NRA to the Ku Klux Klan and tied the group to the dangerous street culture that unfortunately dominates “so many black youths.”

“Sports gets so much attention, and people tune out the real world, that I try to take advantage of the opportunity to talk about the real world when sports lends itself to that and try to open people’s eyes,” Whitlock said.

“You know, I did not go as far as I’d like to go because my thoughts on the NRA and America’s gun culture — I believe the NRA is the new KKK. And that the arming of so many black youths, uh, and loading up our community with drugs, and then just having an open shooting gallery, is the work of people who obviously don’t have our best interests [at heart].”

Whitlock disagreed with the idea that gun ownership “enhances” liberty, explaining how — in his view — it damages society.

“I think it’s obvious if you’ve traveled abroad, and traveled to countries where they have legitimate gun laws, that we don’t have to have what we have in America, where people somehow think a gun enhances their liberty, and that people somehow think a gun makes them safer,” he continued.

“It just doesn’t..."

Thomas Jefferson wrote some unkind words about blacks, and then this idiot Whitless tries to prove him right.

Jason Whitlock, whatever his tonnage, is a light-weight intellect. If he were Caucasian, nobody would have heard of him. As it is, he's some liberal’s pet minority rep.

It appears to me that Jovan Belcher, after a night of drinking and whoring, had decided to kill the mother of his child when he entered her residence. He could have accomplished this goal with his hands, a fireplace poker, a knife, a car, scissors, a pillow, or whatever means he chose, including drowning her in the bathtub.

If the woman Jovan decided to kill had kept a gun nearby and had known how to use it properly, she could have saved her own life.

The interesting thing is that these comments (and those of Costas) make obvious the liberal lie that “nobody wants to take away your guns—we just want a few reasonable gun laws”. The “few reasonable gun laws” line doesn’t square with saying “if he didn’t have a gun” or insisting that gun ownership is against the interests of African-Americans.

He may have a point here.

I lived a good portion of the ‘history’ he has NEVER been taught.

True the Klan etal were R’s for the most part but I distinctly remember in the 50’s/60’s that those nasty Sheriffs and Governors, such as Orville Faubus, Bull Connor, Lester Maddox and countless hundreds of card carrying REPUBLICAN officials mounted attacks on blacks for being black and not much more, barred them from schools and colleges and that great DEMOCRAT President Dwight D. Eisenhower dispatched troops to ensure Federal Law was carried out, thus ‘starting’ the Civil Rights movement.

(THIS shouldn’t be necessary) S/S/S Sarc

93% of violent crimes against blacks, including gun crimes, are committed by Democrats.

Jim Crow laws were all passed by Democrat majorities.

Most KKK members were / are Democrats.

Jim Byrd, (WV-D) was a long-standing member of the KKK.

The "dangerous street culture" is pimped to the "community" by hustlers named Russell Simmons and other producers and publishers of so-called "gangsta" rap where the performers are openly encouraged to pad out their resume with bogus claims of how many times "they got shot", how many "bitches" pull money for them, how much weed they smoke/sell, etc.

Pimps learn that the first thing they have to do is break the whore's spirit by making her forget that slavery ever ended.

Democrats love "the community" in despair and dependent on a weekly handout without a daddy in the home.

And this nutjob has the balls to say the NRA is doing the work of the KKK (which was founded by Democrats to wage a second civil war in the South during Reconstruction and beyond).

If a few Muslims armed with box cutters weren’t allowed on four jets, three thousand people would still be alive today.

What exactly are you accusing us, The NRA, of doing? Arming black youths and loading up communities with drugs? What kind of a clueless moron are you, Jason?

More useless to America than a parasitic professional jock is a sports writer dreaming up worthless drivel. A black sports writer is especially useless as a propagandist introducing racial overtones to flavor his otherwise bland specious blather.

It’s the KKK who is responsible for most of the bad gun laws that were enacted in the 1920’s. Idiot.

I am fairly sure I have traveled, lived and worked abroad and for much longer and in far more countries than Jason Whitlock would ever do if he lived to be a hundred years old, and I can safely say that this statement of his, is the most idiotic statement I have heard for a very long time. It has nothing to do with reality, and is typical of ignorant(of foreign cultures/countries) African Americans who (falsely) believe that living in some other country would somehow, magically solve all their (mostly self inflicted problems), and don't realize how lucky they are to be living in America, and enjoying the freedoms all Americans do.

Rather than face the degeneration of his own racial culture he blames the tools they use to kill each other...and us.

Typical...and easy.

Seems like Whitlock is proving that not all the brain damage in this country is confined to NFL & NHL activities.

When the chaos starts, he may be an early target.
