Thanks for thread A.B. Your Tide certainly had hands full of Bulldog, but now gets to take on The Luck of the Irish.

Ran across this nice 4:48 tribute to Reagan:

Geithner is FOR inflation, even if it means ditching
pennies and the dollar. By any and all means.

How can Timmy defend what his boss has proposed? I can’t bring myself to watch. The hell with it.

What a line up!

I feel a thrill running down my leg.

Ohhhh.

Oops.

That was some coffee I spilled in my lap, instead.

When a Republican is interviewed, the shows almost always start with a video clip of a Democrat criticizing the R in some pertinent way. Just a ‘fair and balance’ thing! Russert was a master and all have taken to the ploy.

I wonder how many of today’s five interviews of Timmy will air the McConnell’s guffaw? All of them, some of them, or was it a condition of having his appearance that the guffaw be “off the table.”

Wallace counters Geithner and says the ‘winding down the war’ spending is a budget gimmick.

Geithner claims it is real.

Wallace implies that the Obama Admin would then need more wars to have that amount to apply to the budget.

Boehner says the Admin would spend all the money if they got it.

Wallace, almost incredulous, ‘they wouldn’t pay down the debt with it?’

Boehner laughs, ‘no they wouldn’t.’

Wallace starts a list of what will and won’t be cut.

[typical of setup for a ‘gotcha’]

Boehner doesn’t take the bait, says he won’t debate specifics with Wallace unless/until Wallace has authority to sign any budget deal.

I am SO sick of politics right now and all the wrangling, whining, backstabbing, never-ending campaigning, crooks running government, etc. that I do not have the stomach to watch any of them on TV these days. I’ve been watching a lot of Christmas movies every evening (Hallmark, etc.). It’s ‘escapism’ ... but necessary for my psyche. Thanks for the thread - at least I can find out what the current version of the latest lies happens to be without having to actually watch them utter the words.

Boehner: We are going to solve America's debt problem. We are going to deal with it. We are NOT going to kick this can down the road!

Wallace: [motor boat impression] but but but what if Obama doesn't go along with it?????

Boehner: We are going to solve America's debt problem.

Fox news panel. All should roll over for Obama. The press still covers his butt left or right.

Bernard Conspiracy Theory for the day: Turbo Tax Timmy is NOT on 5 Sunday morning talk shows because of the interest in the Fiscal Cliff. He IS on the shows to show that Obama can make really bad choices for Cabinet positions and get them confirmed. So, in contrast, Obama thinks Susan Rice looks better.

On Meet The Press, Claire Macaskill was pushing hard about some $23 Billion (Bilion with a B) program cut. Too bad the host does not realize that the annual deficit is 1,000 Billion per year. (Yes, I know annual means per year, but I don't know if DNC Dave does).

There is no serious attempt to control spending; Barry Obama, Harry Ried and Nancy Pelosi are running amuck with the national checkbook and there is no attempt to stop them. That's why Barry needs a permanent executive power to raise the debt ceiling, because the dials are spinning so fast even the big spenders in DC can't keep up with it.

Between Evan Bayh on the FNS panel and Chris Von Hollen on the Meet The Press panel, it looked like auditions for a new Joe Isuzu character. It must be very difficult to negotiate with people like that, when you are constantly worried that they are picking your pocket. I can’t remember the last time I saw 2 people with such insincere smiles.
