Thanks for your input, San Fran Nan, but I prefer our constitutional republic form of government. Perhaps she should move to Cuba if dictatorial rule is her preference.

Give Pelosi a one-way ticket to hell.

The entire debate revolves around the fact that future Congresses are not bound by any spending mandates done by prior congresses.Only taxes transcend new congresses.

No agreement to bind a future Congress to cutting is enforceable. But any tax increase continues until a future congress passes a bill through both houses, and the President signs. Similarly, debt incurred today will need to be paid in the future.
A Constitutional Amendment IS binding (more binding than one Congress “promising” to cut future spending,as if that’ll ever happen) They should try again to pass the “Cut Cap Balance Act” .

Tim “Lightyear” Geithner already said their limit is “To infinity...and beyond!”

This would be the same thing as abolishing the debt limit

So good old Nazi Pelosi must not remember what Bronco said in 2007 about Bush raising the debt limit...lthat it was a failure in leadership. So does she want Bronco’s presidency to fail? And if so, shouldn’t she be pilloried for that “racist” remark like Boehner was?

Pelosi: Give Obama Personal Authority to Lift Limit on National Debt

M Kehoe: Give Jonna personal authority to Lift Limit on our Capital One Credit Card.

I wonder how Capital One feels about this?

We are doomed.

Makes sense to me. Goldman-Sachs is already the fourth branch of government.

I wouldn’t have supported giving this kind of power to Ronald Reagan.

No. Spending is a constitutional power of the Congress as initiated by the House.

There is an obvious reason the Founders didn’t give power of the purse to the president.....they didn’t want a monarch.

Pelosi is an idiot. (But we already knew that.)

More proof that all democrats are for a socialist dictatorship. Democrats want to enslave all Americans taking away all our property and our freedom and putting it all under the control of Obama the piece of crap.

The democrat party is the main threat to our freedom and property and has been for the last 100 years.

Democrats control the media and the media has ruled the country for 100 years, Democrat controlled congress for 40 years before Republicans finally gained a simple majority in 1992 . But in those 40 years Democrat Congresses created most entitlements and government programs

The topic would have been worth a head shake, and a chuckle prior to Nov. 6th, but today I’m shaking my head, NOT chuckling at all.

These Leftist lunatics with power, and influence with the radical powers that occupy the seats of leadership in both the Senate, and the WH today are dangerous. Very dangerous.

suggested that Congress give Obama the personal power as president to lift the legal limit on the federal government's debt.

Government spending is the problem we're facing right now. How can unlimited government spending fix the problem of government spending?

I feel like I've entered Alices wonder land, where up is down and down is up.

No wonder everyone laughed at Geithner. If he thinks unlimited spending will fix unlimited spending, the man needs a good psychiatrist.
