11/29 - UPDATED. DCRTV hears that DC-based political talker Laura Ingraham (right) could soon return to the airwaves via a brokered deal with DC area talker WTNT, 730 AM/102.9 FM. Ingraham, who had been heard until early this week on WTNT, recently announced that she's leaving her syndicator, TRN. But, we're told, she does not yet have another national radio distribution deal set up. Sources tell us that she's been talking to Clear Channel's Premiere and Cumulus. That leaves her with the short-term possibility of buying time from WTNT and doing her show from its Fairfax studios, allowing her to at least be heard in the National Capital market. Ingraham could show up in the late morning slot at Metro Radio's WTNT as soon as mid-December, we're told. More as we hear it.....
Right well this may just be for now till she gets the national deal done
Don’t know; he’s also synd. by Cumulus. He’s on WABC NY,
prob WMAL Balt... WTKK (FM) in Boston has Batchelor.
Savage is returning to WABC 9-11 pm—maybe Batchelor for
an hr on WABC? not sure about other stations
Not so much Sports Talk brings in a larger audience than News/Political Talk...it does bring in an audience of young males who spend money...which advertisers like
In Orlando five years ago....we had one sports talk station that could not be heard at night. Now, we have 4 sports talk radio stations.
You are seeing the News/Political talk stations moving to FM...taking over music stations that are bleeding audience like crazy. The talkers are the only thing that makes money in radio
UPDATE: DCRTV reports WILC AM 900 Laurel MD will pick up many of the WTNT shows so maybe Ingraham goes there. Would start Jan 1. WTNT becomes Somos La Capital tomorrow.
