Michael Savage is finally back in NYC and will be on the air for the first time in the nations capital.
As per WND Savage will be on both WABC and WMAL beginning Monday, 9 till 11.
wmal ping
I wanted to post this on the Talkradio forum. I wasn’t successful. Any help?
I am not sure who the ping master is.
I listened to him last night on some station out of Utah I think. I didn’t know he was back on the radio. I wish they would put him back on the local talk radio station here in northeastern Arizona. He cracks me up.
What will happen to John Bachelor?
It will be interesting to see if Levin will make snide remarks about him on the same station. I like both of them, but they apparently don’t like each other.
Get off the phone you big jerk’ - this should be good - I guess he’ll be on after Levin
Is that 9-11 AM or PM?
Chris Plante currently on WMAL 9-12 AM but has had a stand in this week who was very evasive(?) about when he would be back.
Cut back to two hours a night (which is plenty)?
Savage ping!
Two hrs is probably enough. He gets into some obscure topics sometimes, though. Often interesting and I don’t mind taking a break from politics occasionally.
p.m. -— looks like Savage is replacing Jon Bachelor. Gave me a start when I thought it was Plante. Not that I don’t regret Bachelor’s loss. He has excellent guests and presents an unique and informative view of the news and the world. A great loss if he gets forced off the air.

Boy am I glad it is not Chris Plante!
I share your concern.
While I like listening to Savage, I do get a bit tired of
his hyper self-promotion, particularly with his book promotions, and continuous rehashing of his past.
There have been a few times lately when I have just clicked him off.
Am I being overcritical?
Me too!!! Eventually they will go after Plante. I keep holding my breath and praying for him.
Nevertheless, Bachelor is unique...with very insightful analysis and guests. Hope he can stay on the air. Podcast:

For example, excellent program on 11/26/12 (skip the fourth hour; it is a repeat of the 1st). I was particularly impressed with his discussion on China-—the Azores (an Atlantic base), disputed islands, and China’s new aircraft carrier. Where is one to pick up that kind of analysis in 7 minutes.
YAY!!!!!!!!
I did get this ping, so at least we’re not crazy. :-)
Austin __? sitting in for Chris this week.
On Monday he said he would be back sometime during week, Tuesday said couple of days and today said he would be finishing week....
That is usually the way these stations part company - WMAL ‘fired’ Plante once before and replaced him with Scarborough.
That should have gotten an exec or two canned....
LOL
:-)
I’m guessing the post I pinged you on must have been redundant and got deleted.
Who is cut back to 2 hrs? Bachelor? Didn’t see this info.
Different hours? Savage is now 9pm-12.
Who is the conservative talker retiring in a week or so? Maybe Savage will land that gig?
Maybe they will trade Geraldo out and put Savage in the slot?
Is that Neal Boortz?

Oh Oh the ANOINTED ONE will not be happy with Savage banging away at his leadership. Michael better watch his cioppino from aliotos as Obummer might poison it.
Congratulations to Savage.
ah; I misread. 9pm-11pm.
Amen! I cannot fathom WMAL without Chris Plante! Chris’s wit is unparalleled! Lifes good with the CHris, Rush and Mark line-up!
Laura Ingraham is off the air now, due to failure to come to an agreement with her syndicator.
Syndicators are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. And the geese are going elsewhere.
I occasionally scroll into savage trying to find something interesting to listen to. Why is it, everytime I do he spends 14 minutes talking about what he had for dinner the night before and how it made him ill? Is he a food critic or a political commentator? I vote the former and turn it over to the FM side of the dial as I cannot stand the whiny uncle at thanksgiving complaining that the turkey is too dry and the wine is no good.
My local talk radio station that used to carry Savage and Ingraham, among others, got fed up with the turnover, I guess. When Ingraham didn’t renew, the station changed their format to some 24 hour news feed called “Americas News” that claims to be “news without an agenda.” From my perspctive, its bias lies quite a bit to the left of Fox and somewhat to the right of CNN. No agenda? B.S.
Now I’m bereft of talk radio for several hours/day until Rush comes on.
Nope. Savage does little to help the conservative cause as he's too much of a lunatic to taken seriously by anyone but those on the far right. Preaching to the choir (much like Hannity and most times Rush) does little to help conservatives.
“does little to help conservatives” could probably be stated as “does little to help the country”.
Savage is a liberal in sheeps clothing.
Weiner Nation will immediately follow The Great One?
I agree. Batchelor, while annoying me with BCE instead of BC and AD (leftist plan to purge tradition and Christianity), he often has interesting guests. He’s on my radio now. Very glad, however, that WMAL moved from C2C to the conservative overnight hosts from Texas.
Bachelor is strange, but you are right. He had great guests, and I always learned stuff, and didn’t feel like I was getting played or yelled at.
Savage is either a firebrand or a clown. In either case, we will be poorer for this move.
He used to be on WTNT here in Washington, from 6-8. I guess that means Savage isn’t on that radio anymore.
“Savage does little to help the conservative cause as he’s too much of a lunatic”

Well, judging by the post here, it seems that every talker is bad.
I have been a Rush fan from prior to Dan’s Bake Sale days.
Rush and Savage are the only talkers that I go out of my way to listen to.
In this thread, I see all of the talkers being trashed.
This is more of a sign that America is crashing and will never be the country that I grew up in.
I am so thankful that I left ten years ago.
I wrote WMAL to tell them how I felt about this move.
WMAL listened before and brought Chris Plante back. Perhaps they’ll listen again.
Bad news for you. It has nothing to do with WMAL, Savage is now being syndicated by Cumulus, they own WMAL and WABC and many other big talkers. It was not a WMAl move.
WMAL Ping: As per WND, Michael Savage starts on WMAL on Monday, Dec. 3rd from 9pm to 11pm.
Happy Holidays to Talk Radio and WMAL Fans!
The only “talker” I saw being “trashed” here was Savage, unless you think some of those calling Levin “The Annointed One” were actually mocking him.
I guess the comment about Austin Hill could be seens as somewhat negative, although it was more pointing out that he was no Chris Plante.
>> Another example of the dumbing down of America. <<
I couldn’t agree more. And let’s just hope the nightly rants from Weiner/Savage will have distinctly short run on WMAL and WABC. Bring back John Bachelor!
In the meantime, my night-time radio listening may switch to Jason Lewis on WBT (1110 kHZ) — at least when he isn’t pre-empted by some Charlotte sports team.
That poster was referring to Zero, not Levin.
Chris Plante is worth going out of your way for. If they are in the process of getting rid of him I'll be seriously pissed.
