Rock, Meet Hard Place!!!
This is starting to happen in many “institutions of higher learning.” For me, reading this made my day. Time for the professors to go get meaningful jobs to find out what it’s like to work.
It is like a great big ponzi scheme.
Unfortunately, society is left holding the bag.
Time for professors to spend a full day in the classroom or office working with students. Time to end the grants for meaningless research studies into the sex lives of lesbian pole dancers in New Jersey strip clubs and put the professors in the classroom teaching which is what they are being aid for. Time to slash the administrative bureaucracies at colleges and universities. I’m sorry but every ethnic and racial group doesn’t need it’s own diversity dean.
I’ve stopped giving money to my alma mater because it wastes it on unneeded buildings, prestigious “name” professors that don’t teach classes, guest speakers who advocate the destruction of the country, and new sports facilities that sit empty 95% of the time. I’m sorry, but there is no good reason the football team can’t practice in the stadium where games are played.
The standard of living of the average American family is in decline. It is time for the social engineers of academia, whose theories created this misery, to share the pain.
Good point. I recall about three professors who actually had real world experience. The man who taught personnel management was actually a retired AF General plus he was head of a nuclear power plant. An older gentleman who taught marketing had owned a chain of men’s clothing stores. The third had been a very successful attorney before he taught Business Law. He had had a severe head injury.I wish more had had real world experience.
