The Democrats' Big Problem
The American Thinker ^ | November 24, 2012 | Bruce Walker

Posted on 11/24/2012 12:38:17 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

The left's post-election celebrations are wholly unwarranted.

Consider..................................

In fact, every other Republican seat is in a state which Romney carried handily, while four other Democrat seats -- in New Hampshire, Virginia, Iowa, and Colorado -- came from states in which Romney ran close to Obama. That translates in 2014 into gains, and very likely gains which will translate into a Republican Senate majority. That very fact -- because Senate Democrats can do the math -- means that Harry Reid's plan to make filibusters harder will almost certainly fail: in two years, and perhaps for years thereafter, Republicans may control the Senate.

The House of Representatives was held, and with a clear working majority. This also, likely, is the best shape Democrats will be in in the House for quite a while. The second midterm has uniformly been bad or outright disastrous for the political party which controls the White House. In the elections in 1918, 1942, 1958, 1974, 1986, and 2006, the party holding the White House lost seats (often a lot of seats) in the House. The 1998 Clinton midterm, in a time of prosperity and an impeachment which the gutless Republican Senate punted on, was the single exception to the rule: Democrats gained three seats.

Worse for Democrats, Republicans now control more governorships than before the 2012 election, and these Republican governors are showing a lot of fight on issues like medical exchanges on ObamaCare, Right to Work, voter-identification laws, and tax reform. In a strong Republican 1914-style election, there will be more Republican governors, not fewer, after the midterm.

Even more troubling for Democrats,................ That means that Democrats control only 40 of the 99 state legislative chambers..................

The posted article is an astute analysis, but it neglacts one very crucial consideration: Republicans can't do well in any elections until and unless affirmative steps are taken toward neutering the 'Rats electoral fraud and cheating operations!

With the author pointing out the GOP's relatively strong position in governorships and state legislators, it is about time that this advantage is capitalized upon where it exists to enact state election law changes such as eliminating early voting, same day voter registration, and Motor Voter, introducing voter ID cards, and vetting of prospective voters for American citizenship. And Republican sectretaries of state and attorneys general can begin to seriously arrest, prosecute, convict, and sentence election fraudsters and cheaters. (I don't expect Democrat state officials to be in favor of such measures, but if a few are, they can pursue the same agenda.)

Only with a proactive approach with respect to the multiple dimensions of election rigging can the American public be assured that the REAL winner wins.

You are quite right to bring our focus on to our relationship with our politicians. Politicians are the rock stars, they are not noble people, they do not deserve our reverence. For example, the idea that we have to be so deferential to the president because of his office is dangerous. Like the conquering general returning to Rome, he needs a slave standing behind him in the chariot whispering that he is not a God. Just as important, the electorate, but especially the conservative electorate, needs to regard our politicians as are hired guns, our paladins, our litigation lawyers whose commission is to do our will. When they substitute their own career choices for our will they go renegade and become a liability to us.

In this arena The Tea Party has done us a very great service and beginning to put the fear of God into politicians who saw what happened to wayward senators like Bennett. Because Soros has such firm control of the finances for the Democrat party I believe the Democrats are far more afraid of their own kind and they are of the electorate. That is why they did not break ranks in the Senate on the health care bill. The fact that they did not face a firing squad in the next election means that we can expect Democrat politicians to be even less responsive to the will of the people and to a simple appeal to do what is right. The Democrat party has every chance of resembling the Politburo if they win another election.

Our first step as conservatives is to make politicians more frightened of us than they are of the media, The Tea Party, or the NRA.

As a second step we conservatives ought to figure out how to get control of the party finances. It is not healthy for conservatism that a Rino like Karl Rove has control over hundreds of millions of dollars.

Until now Republicans who say that we are spending too much money have been crying wolf. The electorate has no sense that we are running out of money, that was not effectively litigated by Romney in the last election. The ordinary voter has no idea of the difference between the deficit and the debt. Therefore, there is no downside to voting oneself goodies from the federal trough. Somehow, as a third step, we should make the world understand that every social program carries a cost which must be paid by some individual voter. You are indifferent about open borders? Your taxes just went up in California as a result. You think it is noble to educate illegal aliens tuition free in our state universities? Your child has to pay more and might not have been admitted. Every ying has a yang and the voter must be trained like Pavlov's dog to look for the yang of cost when he hears the ying of benefits. He must become an him and reflexively wary of the injury which accrues to him personally.

I think this is what you are driving at when you say we should make finance the common denominator of all social issues. That is not say that this will be easy because the Democrats have made very successful careers out of disengaging costs from benefits.

I am interested to read what others might have to say.

The Repubs could have run ANYONE in this election and he/she STILL would have lost due to widespread election fraud on a National scale.

Just my humble opinion, but perhaps the truth will come out eventually.

Currently the Republican party is leaderless ~ which is why it is time to shed the GOP-e, and the rules they sought to impose on party operations ~ which cannot be changed.

Only way around that is to abandon the leadership of the Republican National Committee and turn to the New Republican National Committee ~ a totally new organization with rules satisfactory to the state parties!

That puts Palin on the top if that's where she wants.

George had the election in the bag until he agreed to ALLOW the Republican National Senate committee to give him money and tell him what to do. He ended up in a back seat to Romney who ran a nonexistent campaign here.

Out of his last 20 trips to Virginia, 18 of them at a minimum were exactly like his first 20 trips to Virginia ~ he met with major Republican donors ~ not the public at large.

George's campaign never recovered from that one.

We don’t need to grind the message. We simply need to get back to the basics. Reagan ran on the basic conservative principles and won with landslides. Conservatives conserve our founding principles. Our American heritage. Freedom. Small government. We are the only country in history that truly recognizes and was founded on the principles of equality under the law and that our UNALIENABLE individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are granted to us by God Himself not man, not government, and no man or government on earth can deprive us of same without one helluva fight!!

Try removing any of the above from the platform and you will face rebellion from the conservative base.

The current lesson is: DON’T RUN RINOS!!

Historically it is: DON’T TREAD ON ME!!

...widespread election fraud on a National scale.

The 'Rats had engaged in fraud in certain key states in '08 and got away with it. They most likely would have won nationally even without the fraud then, but would have lost the two closest states that year, North Carolina and Indiana.

So this year, with nothing to fear, they amped up their illicit operations in carefully targeted cities and counties in swing states; all of these cities and counties are heavily populated by them and lacking enough Republicans to put up much of a protest. Their emphasis was on south Florida, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and some overwhelmingly 'Rat areas in Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Iowa.

Based on our knowledge as to what happened in 2008, the GOP should have been studying the problem for years and should have come up with definitive measures to counteract the fraud and cheating in these specific geographical areas. But national and state Republicans in these specific locations seem to have been AWOL!

” - - - We simply need to get back to the basics. - - - “

I agree.

Thanks for taking the time to reply in the debate that we are having on this thread.

It would be great if there were just a few things that we could change in the coming Campaign for the election of 2014 to make our efforts successful.

IMHO, the Conservative Base has embraced to many topics that to make an effective change in our fortunes at the ballot box will be nearly impossible without dropping many of the Social Topics.

Let us examine the RINO Base support for the Federal Republicans In Name Only, or FRINOs.

While getting back to basics may be the most important goal, we first must cause the RINO supporters to question the wisdom of their continual blind support of their RINOs BEFORE we can get them interested in getting back to basics.

RINOs, and the Conservatives who support the RINOs will soon be easily led to accept the Media explanation of why Republicans lost in the last election.

IOW The Media will try to convince them to be more like the Democrats. If they take the bait, the RINOs will lose again in 2014 and 2016.

My intent is to explore some ideas that the Media will never bring up, have debates here on FR and build a Conservative Think Tank Base here on FR that will motivate us to action that will reverse the RINO disasters of the recent past.

One such idea that the Liberal Agenda Media Elite, or LAME, will never mention is the fundamental difference between government and Business.

In Business, the main concern is profitability, and the imposition of a rigorous profit and loss disciple on all aspects of that business.

In the Federal Government, profit and loss are rarely considered, and when considered, usually ignored.

In government, the Federal Politician’s main concerns center around using their definition of ‘Bipartisam Compromise’ to achieve their primary goal of being re-elected.

A “BiPartisan Compromise” to a Democrat means NEVER give up any move to the Left concession agreed to by the Right, and if possible do not do what the Democrats promised to do in the Compromise.

For nearly 80 years now, the Democrats have demanded two steps to the Left, “Compromised” by agreeing to taking one step to the Right, which then gave them a net one step to the Left EVERY TIME that a ‘BiPartisan Compromise’ was made.

Thus, the US Federal Government has steadily moved always to the Left and with few exceptions almost always with a substantial financial loss.

The supporters of the RINOs have usually been very grateful to their Heros, the RINOs, for not allowing the Democrats to get all that they had at first demanded.

Thus, the RINOs get re-elected for doing a ‘good’ job, and the RINOs have job security for life.

Hence, we Conservatives must convince the RINO supporters to at least question their support of their RINOs.

_____________

IMHO, people tend to accept the first explanation that captures their imagination.

Let us here on FR present explanations that will capture the imagination of those FReepers that will lead the future Conservative Base to repeated Election Victories.

________

BTW Lurkers, y’all have lurked long enough!

Time to join FR and help form the Strong Conservative Base that America will need in the years ahead!

(Whistling a Sousa March while you join FR is optional).

We can not wait for 2014 and 2016 to regroup and figure out new strategies. By then it will be too late. The Marxist/Muslim usurper will have completed his planned distruction of America.

That’s what people fail to understand.

Col Allen West; “I don’t want to see America become like Zimbabwe where people don’t trust their electoral process. If we cannot trust the integrity of the voting system then we are no longer a free republic.

Col West has opened the door.
It’s now up to We The People.

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

.
Polls indicated that Romney was going to win the election. The economy is close to Great Depression era conditions, and unemployment is almost as high as when Obama entered office. Economic conditions became so dire after Obama took office it prompted the rise of an entire new movement, the Tea Party.
Presidents rarely win reelection when the economy is in the tank.
So how did Romney lose a race that numerous reputable polls and pundits predicted would be an easy win, based on historical patterns?
Massive voter fraud.

There are massive reports of criminal activity
(not mischief, not shenanigans, as many term the fraud- but CRIMINAL ACTIVITY) going on all over the U.S during the presidential election.
Reports of machines changing votes from Romney to Obama, eyewitness reports of Republican poll watchers who observed busloads of non-English speaking Somalians in Ohio being instructed to vote Obama- the list is endless.

http://www.ObamaVoterFraud.com/

Romney lost because of this, not any other reason.
Nobody could have won against the fraud planned and perpetrated by the Obama Machine.

The evidence is overwhelming!

I am hated and excoriated here on FR for saying this very thing. I am called a squish, a mushy RINO, you name it, I'm hated more than Obama.

As a matter of fact, Romney and Bush are hated more than Obama, and that's a fact.

There is no virtue in losing and that means using the primary to select our candidates and then, after that, it's full speed ahead to stop any, and ALL RATS!!!
