After effectively barring conservative columnist Ann Coulter from speaking on campus last week, the Jesuit college Fordham University welcomed infanticide and bestiality advocate Peter Singer for a panel discussion on Friday.
According to Fordhams media relations website, Singer, a tenured Princeton bioethics professor, spoke from 4 to 6 p.m. in a panel the university promised will provoke Christians to think about other animals in new ways.
Singer has long lamented the societal stigma against having sex with animals.
Not so long ago, Singer wrote in one essay, any form of sexuality not leading to the conception of children was seen as, at best, wanton lust, or worse, a perversion. One by one, the taboos have fallen. But not every taboo has crumbled.
In the essay, titled Heavy Petting, Singer concluded that sex across the species barrier, while not normal, ceases to be an offence [sic] to our status and dignity as human beings.
Occasionally mutually satisfying activities may develop when humans have sex with their pets, he claimed.
In addition to supporting bestiality and immediately granting equal legal rights to animals, Singer has also advocated euthanizing the mentally ill and aborting disabled infants on utilitarian grounds.
In his 1993 essay Taking Life, Singer, in a section called Justifying Infanticide and Non-Voluntary Euthanasia, wrote that killing a disabled infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person.
Very often it is not wrong at all, he added, noting that newborns should not be considered people until approximately a month after their birth.
Both Singer and his supporters maintain that ethics experts must often confront taboo topics to arrive at greater philosophical truths.

maybe, peter, when people start spouting this insane drivel and say others should live certain ways and give up certain things but don’t do it themselves, maybe then we should consider that they aren’t people anymore either, but a form of non-human social cancer that needs to be excised.
He thinks people should have sex with their ANIMALS?? OMG!! OMG!!! OMG!!
EVIL RULES TODAY....EVERYWHERE in AMERICA!!
These Jesuits wouldnt know JESUS if he appeared to them!!
Yup
Once you define a Marriage as other than between one man and one woman, the gates are open to anything.
That’s my DAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.
All the electoral positions on the state board of education and both major universities in Michigan had republicans on the ballot. Unfortunately they only got votes from straight ticket voters and beyond that, conservatives are too lazy to be bothered with those piddly races.
But I’m sure its all the fault of the democrats. /s
I got my MBA from a Jesuit school (University of Santa Clara) in 1982 and an ethics course was required to graduate. Maybe I should seek a refund based on this revelation. What has happened to our country, our moral compass, and our mainline religions? This is beyond repulsive.
I have a pet green slime mold...I can’t wait until I can marry it! The “new normal”.
With fools like this running around and voting, you can understand why obama was re-elected.
Then why did you bother to read and comment? But what the heck, you got to feel important, and remain ignroant that you jus lost part of your rights too with this.
What?
You were happy for the liberal alligator to swallow Ann Coulter - because you are not doubt angry at some of her positions over the past couple years (as am I).
What you fail to realize is rights are not abridged a person at a time. All conservatives lost this battle at Fordham - Ann C was simply directly involved. Loss for all of us, and yet, you felt the need to celebrate it.
One of the dogmas in the religion of liberalism is that animals and people are the same. People are not above animals in intelligence. All have the same rights.
This is because most religions say that people are above animals in intelligence, and therefore can keep pets, train animals, raise animals for food, hunt, etc.
Leftists hate religions, and so are compelled to deny human and animal nature.

Yep. Our culture was rooted in Judeo-Christian beliefs. Long after many folks stopped believing in Christ, they still believed in and generally followed His teachings. When I was young, many unbelieving parents even sent their children to church. Our cultural engine had run out of steam by that point, but it was still coasting.
Most people today are simply ignorant about Christ. They wrongly believe Christ (and Christian morality) is a prison, when they themselves are the ones enslaved by their own base human instincts. Even if one doesn’t believe in Christ, they will generally lead a healthier, happier life if they follow Christ’s precepts. Like you wrote, this used to be consider common sense.
I don’t know, but the thought just occurred to me that singer and coulter aren’t that far apart and her invitation should be reinstated. If singer thinks that sex with animals is potentially satisfying, he could ask ann coulter. I mean, didn’t she have sex with bill maher?
I didn't not intend to come across as celebrating anything.
Did the good Professor forget that brothels and prostitutes have been around since the dawn of man? It most certainly wasn't for procreation purposes. Abortions have been around as long as prostitution. How would he explain away the fact that "the oldest profession" is the oldest profession?
As far as advocating having sex with his pets, this is one sick SoB.
“liberaltarians are going to be unhappy with us thinking that beastiality is a bad thing, theyll say its a victimless crime or something”
The PETA whackos will save the chickens from being molested...
republican doesn’t guarantee conservative. you know this.
