Wife told me about this early today. Told her people like that will eventually move to people because killing animals isn’t thrilling enough anymore.

He said the two Patas monkeys came to Zoo Boise about three years ago from Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo in Florida. Well, the way things have been lately, I bet the monkey knew one of those nutty Kelly twins and maybe Broadwell too. ;-)

Perhaps it wouldn’t have happened if the monkey was armed

“that resulted in the death of a male Patas monkey”
I wonder what happened to the monkey. It’s phrased a little odd. Did the cops tazer the little creature to death or did they have to shoot it. Perhaps they mistook it for a dog...

Boise? It was an attempt to “free” the monkey that went wrong.

Not clear to me whether it was entirely deliberate / premeditated. It sounds as if a person outside of the zoo more or less fled into the zoo and was being searched for. He may have hidden in the monkey pen and been approached by the monkey in an aggressive or otherwise bothersome way.
Those monkeys can weigh around 25 pounds and run faster than a human being.

They spanked it
Well played - I'm going to hell for laughing at that one.

Zoo Boise Director Steve Burns was called and said that during the search he heard a groan that he at first thought was human, but that turned out to be an injured Patas monkey barely moving near the perimeter fence. He said the zoo's veterinarian was called but the monkey died as it was being examined, just before 6 a.m. Police said the monkey appeared to have a head injury.

Man, people like that should be caged with a tiger.
I hope it wasn’t a sexual assault.

I dont wanna click the link, how did they kill a monkey? Gravely injured, but still alive when recovered. Died shortly thereafter of a head injury (specific cause undetermined as yet).
