Gaza rocket hits area south of Tel Aviv for first time

A rocket from the Gaza Strip exploded in an open field outside of Rishon Lezion on Thursday evening, marking the first hit in the center of the country in renewed violence from the Gaza Strip. The rocket, one of over 240 fired from Gaza into the South since the IDF launched Operation Pillar of Defense Wednesday to root out the terror infrastructure in the coastal territory, landed less than 15 km south of Tel Aviv. The operation began with the Wednesday afternoon targeted killing of Ahmed Jabari, the chief of Hamas's military wing.

The IDF Spokesman's Office stated the Iron Dome rocket defense system has successfully intercepted more than 80 rockets since the operation began.

A separate IDF spokesman confirmed that all Palestinian terror factions took part in rocket fire overnight Wednesday, with Hamas trying to take the lead.

He added that the IDF "believes the rocket fire will intensify." Tank fire also was directed at terror targets, he said.

Since beginning its operation, the IDF has struck nearly 200 Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza, including several terrorist cells preparing to fire rockets at Israel and medium-range rocket launchers located across the Strip.

Palestinian sources said that 15 people were killed in Gaza as a result of the IAF strikes, with more than a hundred suffering injuries.

The spokesman concluded by describing the Hamas-ruled Strip as "a forward Iranian base," and urged the populace to remain steadfast, as "home front resilience is vital for the continuing operation."

Total extermination of terrorists is the only solution. I would bomb Gaza to rubble and bulldoze it flat.

My Mom is going to call them later since its a 10 hr time difference..they have a beautiful house in Rishon, overlooking the city I think they have a bunker not sure. I think its required for everyone in Israel to have one. My brother in law’s brother he has already been called back to Israel, what he does is he goes into a bunker and tells them where to bomb..once he is called it means things are escalating quickly. Usually they don’t call him but when something big is about to go down he is the first one called

That is what Netanyahu should do, and declare Gaza a sovereign state minutes before saying the next rocket means war.

500 pound Israeli bombs on Hamas infrastructure for each terrorist rocket would be a friendly reminder.

Start with water facilities.

The only issue with that is that all the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip is Israeli built and maintained. They would only be costing themselves added expense, while making themselves appear to be the "bad guy" by attacking civilian targets.

I don’t get why Israel does not crater any and all rocket launch points.

If Israel did that, the terrorists would start launching from the roof of a hospital, old folks home, elementary school, etc, for the propaganda value of the dead civilians.

I read something on one of the Israel news sites that
a rocket had targeted the Dimona nuclear facility.
This is going to get bigger.

Lead photo on Yahoo was of an arab reporter for the BBC carrying his dead child from an Israeli strike.

I’ve seen footage in documentaries with the local population and reporters standing right next to those firing missiles into Israel.

If you don’t stand against the terrorists, you stand with them. Trying to call yourself “neutral” in such a situation doesn’t hold water.

Try being “neutral” while doing ride alongs with a serial killer who kidnaps, rapes, tortures, and murders his prey. Same difference.

“Israel has suffered over a 1000 rocket attacks this year and the UN does not say a damn thing or do a damn thing.”

And the MINUTE Israeli forces cross into Gaza, a “humanitarian crisis” will be declared!/s;)

I believe the following verses describe an event that seems must happen before the 7 year tribulation. Some scholars believe that only a tactical nuke aimed at the Aswan dam holding back the River Nile would cause the entire country of Egypt to be uninhabitable for forty years, including the fish and animals.

Eze 29:9 And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am the LORD: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it.

Eze 29:10 Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.

Eze 29:11 No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

Eze 29:12 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

Eze 29:13 Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered:

Eze 29:14 And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom.
