Maybe Hannity should start the "Days to Collapse" countdown.

He'll want to consult with "The Architect" first.

I would think a disaster like that would CREATE hundreds of thousands of temporary jobs for clean-up, search, food and supplies delivery, etc.

-Any way to break the figures down by each State please?

Nope. NJ had the most Sandy related claims followed by CT, but NY actually dropped. Net claims caused by Sandy were about 5,000. MI, OH, PA, MD, NC, and WA all had over 1000 and were not hurricane related with about 21K in claims.

So yeah, the headline is BS. Surprise surprise.

How soon in 2013 will that number start reaching 100,000 per month? Do any of you feel any sense of urgency by either party to address the jobs issue? I didn’t think so. This upcoming holiday season may be the last one we fully enjoy before the full weight of our economic catastrophe comes crashing down on us beginning in January.

Gah you are behind the times. No need to actually visit an unemployment office anymore. They do it all online with their solar powered computers while sitting in their Sandy damaged Fema tents.

Good info. Thanks.

That the BLS would give us BS is "unexpected." ;-)

Unemployment figured are determined monthly. November’s report will be issued on Monday, December 3rd. I’m guessing it went up a teensy bit.

If anything, this storm will increase jobs on the affected areas - right now you can’t even get a plumber, electrician, flooring contractor or dry wall contractor to even return a phone call.

Not necessarily - depends on the state. I collected a 3 month severance that was paid out in bi-weekly installments just as I would have received as a paycheck and was still allowed to file for UE. After a waiting week, I was able to collect. We were thankful and were able to bank $$ as I knew in this area that jobs are very hard to come by. After countless resumes and interviews I am now working part time, volunteering and networking as I just cannot stand to be home doing nothing. Good paying, full time jobs are not easy to come by.

States withheld processing first time claims before the election. I was saying weeks ago that Colorado, for instance, was over 50,000 claims behind.

They were lying to protect Obama before the election.

The hits just keep on coming. That list of "lying to protect 0 before the election" is getting quite long.
