Well, this might be to do with the fact that the founder of McAfee is in Belize wanted for murder.
(I have a theory he might have murdered the guy on the commercial for PCMatic.com. Anyone noticed he’s missing from those commercials now?)
There was an article on October 8 saying that Intel (which now owns McAfee) plans to lay off a “small percentage.” No figures given.

I wonder if the recent stories describing McAfee as a drug-raddled murderer might have a further negative impact on the company? It can’t be very good for their image, I wouldn’t think.
It’s hard to make money on a product that Microsoft does better and gives away for free.

Unless it’s a McAfee subsidiary under a different corporate name, this is not true, it would require a WARN notice, McAfee has not posted one with Texas Workforce Commission.
