The Sunday Morning Bray, by Bray!
I wrote this last February although I did fall for the false gold hoping Romney could win. Even then we all feared this was going to happen:
This is how we know that LOVE is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16
We just lost a special election here in Oregon where the establishment ran a self described moderate and lost twice in a row. When all of the experts try to explain that you have to run the perfect candidate to satisfy the moderates you need to ask them by what proof do they come up with that truth? There is more proof of Global Warming than moderate candidates win. As they point to all the Tea Party candidates who cost us elections we have seen in Blue Oregon that moderates dont fare any better and will be painted as rabid conservatives so why not run rabid conservatives who can defend themselves.
We ran a really nice guy who has a great family and is a small business owner who in many ways agrees with conservatives however he never really understood conservatism or how it relates to freedom. He not only didnt have the ability to articulate it but he was told to make sure not to say anything that would offend the moderates or the media so he didnt. Not only that, the campaign as well as the Party used every means possible to make sure the volunteers never came in contact with the people to potentially say something that would offend them or the media. So to control the message and make sure no Tea Party message went out they ran the entire outreach by phone. What we ended up with was a vanilla campaign and unenthused voters who never showed up with their ballots.
The excuses are as varied as the imaginations of those who ran this anemic campaign, from being outspent 5 to 1 or a 14% voter registration margin to mailers that lied, but in the end the Republicans never showed up. When you dont excite the conservatives you dont get the money or their votes. These of course are obstacles to a campaign but they can be overcome by an aggressive attack with a candidate who can take the fight to the enemy. You will never beat the Dems by playing defense since they will always fire up their troops and get their voters out at the end.
We tried helping by running a strictly grassroots campaign to try to finally break the 35 year drought our district has had electing Dems and in the end couldnt do it. We were hamstrung by the Party and the campaign to the point of our precinct organizers being told not to organize their precincts or go door to door for fear of them saying the wrong thing. When they were asked if they could go door to door to bring in the ballots for our vote by mail we were told absolutely not, they only wanted phone callers and nothing else. This is so they could protect their precious message of nothingness.
As bad and incompetent as this campaign may have appeared it is a perfect mirror of what the Mitt campaign will look like. Just like Oregon the national experts know exactly how and who to promote to win the election and manage the message. They believe they have the perfect vanilla anti-Tea Party message to win over those movable moderates when what they think they know is the exact opposite. Nationally we need a strong crusader for our message to move and educate those moderates or we will have the same exact result we had for our election. There is no difference between Oregon and the liberal cities. The free stuff message Ohbummer will be spreading which will be going against a stiff liberal Republican trying to outgive him and will never work.
With Mittwit we are heading down the path of destruction of the Party. Not only will it further divide the Tea Party from the Country Club as it did here it has almost zero chance of succeeding. We need to unite the Party and the only one who has a chance of doing that is a Conservative. A Conservative can bring the Tea Party on board where half of your activists exist as well as reluctantly bring the Country Club as they have to compare him to Ocommie which should be no comparison even to them. Our election should be a huge warning that in a district that could have been won was lost by the experts in the Country Club who manipulated, bought and used Stalinist central planning techniques to manage the loss. They will blame the voter imbalance, money and any number of excuses but it is a very good primer of what is going to happen in the fall if we nominate Romney who does not generate enthusiasm from the Conservative base and the Party relies on moderating their way to victory. His stiff demeanor will not connect with liberals and will be painted as a radical, rich, old guy Conservative no matter how liberal he actually is. He will have no defense against those charges other than being more liberal and alienating the base who wont vote.
The bottom line is here in Oregon we were lectured and manipulated by the so called experts how this candidate gave us the perfect opportunity to win and the experts were wrong. These experts are either incompetent, corrupt or in alliance with the other side. In the end they get paid the same whether the candidate wins or loses so what have they got to lose. These managers are not ideologues but hired guns to manage a campaign and as long as the phone calls are being made and meetings being attended then the losses were managed well. Choose wisely because there are some powerful people wanting this election to turn out exactly how they want it and right now is going according to plan, just like ours did. Dont let happen what happened to Oregon happen to America so be a bit pragmatic to unite and bust your butt behind Gingrich to defeat the Country Club. He is not perfect but right now it is him or the Country Club and a sure loss to Obama just like Oregon.
Pray for America
Note: The above opinion is not necessarily my own, but FReeper Brays. If you wish to discuss this, please ping Bray.
Good Morning All on the first Sunday after the death of the great American experiment
1. The so-called bush Tax Cuts expire January 2012. They will NOT be renewed. Taxes will go up substantially. And not just for the rich, but everyone paying will see a cut in their paychecks. For the bottom rung of taxpayers, enough to buy a muffler, thank you Tom Dashole. From there on up, more. For some, lots more.
2. Obamacare. We all thought the Supremes would end it. They did not. We had one out, and that was this election. Face it, Obamacare is the law of the land. With several thousand pages of regulations and sub-directives, we have yet to understand just how bad this is going to be.
3. Sequestration and cuts to the military. It is on, the chopping block now feels the axe. What will be left? I am a military retiree with health problems. I’m soooo screwed.
4. The media won on creating the popular meme that Republicans and TEA partiers are racist, Bible-thumping haters.
5. Did anyone mention that not only did Alan West lose* but Alan Grayson got his job back?
I do not blame Romney. Let's face it folks, the driveby media won this one. I've spent years on this thread pointing that out.
The real enemy hosts these shows we gather to watch.
*Still being fought!
So ..... election gloating (Axelrat & the other Dems?) this morning or now that there is ‘sex’ involved, will the discussion be about Petraeus resigning?
We need to come up with a good name for the so-called media after the debacle over their non-coverage of Benghazi, cheerleading the horrible economy as a ‘recovery’, and their modus operandi of having their heads up Obama’s butt at all times. LSM doesn’t cut it any more. Obamamedia? Goes along with Obamacare, Obamasizing (layoffs, etc after Obama election), & Obamazombies (my name for anyone braindead enough to vote for the destruction of America).
Anyway, maybe I can control my gag reflex enough this morning to take a gander at the TV .... otherwise, I’ll just follow here on FR ... thanks for the thread!

11-6-2012 = Proverbs 26:11
Did not realize Grayson got his seat back. Now I’m even more depressed.
These experts are either incompetent, corrupt or in alliance with the other side.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
They are likely in alliance with the other side. Where did these experts go to school? What were their majors when in school?
BUT they never will.
They are shameless quislings to their Profession and America.
Instead, even PRAVDA and the Canadian Press
will follow it up, first.

I predict on “Face the Nation” Sen. Lindsey Graham(RINO) will change his party to Democrat. Probably Not! But I am positive that he will sound like one. (Blame Tea Party, Call for Imigration Reform [Grahamnesty 2], call for all Republicans to “fall in line” with President Obama’s plans. Either way MS. Lindsey is toast in SC 2014! Hopefully Congressman Trey Gowdy will step up and run.
I’m not going to watch. I watched Fox run with the pack to many times against Romney. I watched the other channels ignore all the bad news about Obama. Thats their president now and I take no blame for it.
Agreed, the media bias has brainwashed half the voters, but not half the country. We must continue to do their jobs, and not just here among ourselves as I see is part the problem of the media getting away with campaigning for Democrats and going negative on anything Conservative.
If it's difficult to turn off ALL media all the time, then let's agree to one at a time. NBC News programs are my suggestion and new practice. No MTP, Morning Joe, Today, Brian Williams, MSNBC, Rock Center. None, Nada, Zip. They're all slime, but NBC seems the worst offender.
I'm happy to catch summaries of MTP here. If none of us watch, we'll have to wait for the details, but by and large it's meaningless propaganda anyway
We know their ratings are weak and getting weaker across the various platforms, perhaps even extending beyond news. My goal, our goal, is to put them out of business with a final killing financial shiv. Old media proved they're not quite dead. Yet. I say kill 'em.
Very good, Chiller.
I do agree: NBC=MSNBC. They’ve made their choice; hard left leaning forward.
Now, how can we organize such a thing?
How about them Senate candidates kids? Weren’t they swell?
We simply must purge the RNC and focus on putting together a conservative field of candidates for 2014.
Uber RINO Lindsey Ping
"Republican by day, Democrat by night."
Want on or off this ping list?
Just FReepmail me.

Where to start ? Education ? Primary system ? Republican (non-)leadership. Message ? Media ? Electoral College ? Congressional co-operation / complete concession / hardnose stonewalling ?
We will win in the end, but the road just got longer. They are corrupt (Obie regime and media), and now emboldened so I expect them to make fatal errors that bring down the regime by 2014. They've already begun with Benghazi/Patreaus. And they know it.

The GOP took a shellacking in the Senate races. Weeks ago, they were expected to pick up around 5 seats and move to near parity with the Dems in the number of seats.
Instead, they lost — and several seats were thought to be the GOP’s pick ups just weeks ago.
Akin in MO, Allen in VA, Mourdock in IN — all three had mouth problems that helped in their losses.
==
Then there is the presidential race. For weeks, we heard from Barone, Rove, Morris, and some others that Romney was going to win by over 300 electoral votes. We heard several of the talkshow hosts saying ‘ignore the polls because they are wrong.’
Instead, most of the polls turned out to be more accurate that Barone, Rove, Morris, and the ‘conservative’ talkshow hosts.
==
Now, we have had 4 days of finger pointing. Voter fraud, the message, the messenger, Hurricane Sandy, etc.
The next big question for the GOP: Whose turn is it for 2016?
Krauthhammer says it has to be a younger face with an Hispanic background, as he follows up with, someone like Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio.
Sorry Charlie, but Jeb Bush is not a new face and the Bush name has tainted GOP politics for decades. Obama was still running against Bush in this election and the exit polls showed that many blame Bush, not Obama, for the economic situation.
Names for 2016 are already being thrown around. If the GOP cannot field a better list of contenders than they did for the 2012 GOP primaries, they are going to lose again in 2016.
On a positive note, I am over this whining about the election and onto preparing for the worst. I am not getting out of stocks(one place to beat inflation), preparing for a fix-all shop by acquiring tools and learning repairing techniques, Starve the Beast 2.0, and a new idea on the prepper side, find a nearby retreat to access that is off the beaten path for worst case scenario.
I am proud of the US Constitution as it was written! No longer will I accept the desecration.
Special prayer for those in the hurricane damaged areas who have no chance to work on preparing for tomorrow because they have to work for survival today.
I agree, mountainfolk.
The media and democrats won because they used ethnic, racial, and sexual identity politics against us.
Remember when George Stephanopolis brought up the contraceptives question in the Republican debates earlier this year? That was an Axelrod-Jarret-Carville-Stephanopolis designed offensive against us to divide and conquer.
That was the first strike.
Then the media and dems in Congress used Sandra Fluke, so-called “college student” (and to this day, that is what many news outlets still call her). Rush called he a slut—IF she really needed that much birth control. The media took that and opened with it like it was end of the world.
Then Akin and Murdock went off about rape and that added a bucket of gasoline to that burning fire.
Republican’s War on Women.
It worked.
None of it would have suceeded at all if it wasn’t for a willing, eager media ready to trumpet each and every charge and to make a mountain out of Republican gaffes while ignoring regular gaffe-A-matics like Slow Joe Biden.
Propaganda at its best.
Agreed, but for one little thing.
Getting ANGRY doesn't do much but screw up your concentration and your aim. (Which for a Naval Aviator could mean you drive yourself right into the dirt.)
I do believe that I'll stay Fighting Mad instead.
(...although I'll probably get a bit medieval on the next media pimp/political "expert" starts up on this Tea Party / Conservatism Is Dead meme.)
.

.
Sheesh, this is maybe the second post I've actually made since the day of that damn fraud.

First topic: Petraeus and his extra-marital affair(s)
[Looks like things are getting back to ‘normal’ for Washington and the Media.]
Yup. I just mentioned the War on Women bull$hit.
The media won the election.
L!I've highlighted something you said. Voter fraud.
I think that might have made ALL the difference in certain key districts. We still control a lot of states, and this fraud needs a several state-level FBI type of investigations. Leave the feds out--let the Republican governors appoint special prosecuters, and really, really nail the cheaters. Keep it vigorous but low key until they have evidence.
Look for talk for the rest of the year about the House Republican needing to get in line with Obama about the fiscal cliff, sequestration, amnesty, debt ceiling etc. etc.
Good for you. Fortress Babylon is ready. Take my name—Alas Babylon. Ever read the book?
It is THE book to have for Preppers, and frankly started the whole thing.
andrea Mitchell already says “Petreus will back the administration’s view of Benghazi”...here goes the spin to cover Benghazi!
a couple questions...then quickly off the topic. NOTHING about Petreus going on with the Muslim video crap.
Now quick change of subjects to the fiscal cliff...nothing to see here, move along now.
Here we go with the Mandate on less spending..shumer..”Oh, we already did that.”
HUH??
FNS
Feinstein, a politician, says that the changing Benghazi narrative perpetrated by Obama, a politician, just before the election, which is political, was not politics.
==
Who are you going to believe? Feinstein and Obama or your lying ears?
Didn’t read it, but fortunately I grew up in a poor family where my father was frugal and resourceful so I’ve got a good start.
The sentiments of hundreds of us on this thread are likely shared by a good portion of the FR nation. And certainly another 47% of the country share some or all of our sentiments. Simply ignore NBC News. They're irrelevant.
I'll organize a thread "FR targets NBC News" or some such. Bump it, expose it.
Not to ignore step one, however. I'm hesitant to call it a "boycott", but a noticeable loss of numbers for NBC News will add up and be noticed. Cable and satellite companies certainly know who's watching what, when.
Sick of this ‘fiscal cliff’ garble, Democrats are sending the private sector over a fiscal cliff no matter what.
Names for 2016 are already being thrown around. If the GOP cannot field a better list of contenders than they did for the 2012 GOP primaries, they are going to lose again in 2016.
To win the WH a Republican MUST be a conservative, but to win the nomination a Republican MUST be a feckless RINO.
The really depressing thing is that it will not matter who the Demoviks nominate in 2016—that person wins by default.
Conventional democracy is really dead to us. It’s time to look for unconventional ways to bring the elitist Marxist State to its inevitable moment of collapse.
Sick of this fiscal cliff garble, Democrats are sending the private sector over a fiscal cliff no matter what.

Politicians talking about the budget, taxes, SS/Medicare, etc:
Theme: Compromise and conciliate [for Pubbies, of course]

Been talking to my dad a lot lately about how his family survived the Great Depression. We’re making plans to weather the coming ‘collapse’ .... I believe it’s going to happen and the more self-reliant you are, the greater your chance to survive it. Big eye opener for folks just trucking along not paying attention ... Sandy. Look at those poor folks, unprepared, waiting for the government to come to the rescue. Obama was on the golf course the other day - think he cares? Heh. Anyway, we’re DOING something around here .... helps dissipate the anger & frustration from the election, too.
Start today by avoiding NBC News programs. Spend those minutes and hours elsewhere, even if it’s one of the other alphabets to get the mainstream spin. (Remember, fundamentals; one at a time)

But if you can encourage people to write letters and make calls to the sponsors to express concern about the “content NBC airs” etc. you can make a dent.
I worked in the lamestream media for decades and the dweebs at the top are EXTREMELY nervous when their sponsors are targeted.
Went to the grocery store shortly after reading it for the first time way, way back when in the 1970s. I remember thinking, "Hmmm... maybe I should stock up." Powerful book.
I am turning all these programs off-won’t watch them anymore. I will listen to radio and get my news from online sources.
I won’t be spending any of my money in the states that voted for Obama. Any company head that came out for Obama won’t get my business. I won’t be using google etc.We will live very frugally now, and without the sound of the MSM lying to us everyday.
I agree, mountainfolk.

These people simply want their bread and circuses and trust the Demoviks to keep providing them. They don’t want to have to work for their stuff, or COMPETE for a comfortable place in society, etc.
The Russian population in the middle part of the Soviet era was dominated by people who understood they were “oppressed” but really didn’t care—as long as they didn’t have to work too hard to get out from under.
Even down to the bitter end the Gang of Eight old Bolshies knew they had at least 40 percent support and mainly from older people, when they sent tanks to take out Yeltsin and the Russian parliament.
America is well beyond the 50 percent mark at this point when it comes to the government-dependency formulation. The only way out of this is to somehow advance the collapse of the state.
