Obama wins Fla., topping Romney in final tally

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- President Barack Obama was declared the winner of Florida's 29 electoral votes Saturday, ending a four-day count with a razor-thin margin that narrowly avoided an automatic recount that would have brought back memories of 2000.

No matter the outcome, Obama had already clinched re-election and now has 332 electoral votes to Romney's 206.

The Florida Secretary of State's Office said that with almost 100 percent of the vote counted, Obama led Republican challenger Mitt Romney 50 percent to 49.1 percent, a difference of about 74,000 votes. That was over the half-percent margin where a computer recount would have been automatically ordered unless Romney had waived it.

There is a Nov. 16 deadline for overseas and military ballots, but under Florida law, recounts are based on Saturday's results. Only a handful of overseas and military ballots are believed to remain outstanding.

It's normal for election supervisors in Florida and other states to spend days after any election counting absentee, provisional, military and overseas ballots. Usually, though, the election has already been called on election night or soon after because the winner's margin is beyond reach.

I propose a C.U.E. or a Conservative Underground Economy.

I still have reason to believe that a hypothetical accurate (it would have to be mandatory) plebiscite in all or almost all states that narrowly flipped to Barack would have gone comfortably to Mitt.

I agree. I wonder what TrueTheVote has to say about all of this. I haven't seen/heard anything from them, since the *election*.

My little boondock, pasty white hillbilly polling place had what looked like a “200% turnout”, which included many ‘minority voters’ and incredibly demographically incongruous ‘huge black poll watchers’.

I saw minority voters *walking* up the polling place lane, which is -not- within walking distance of anyone, except for about a dozen houses.

[all which are inhabited by pale hillbillies]

The little old man who has escorted us to our ballots *forever* looked nervous as hell and the *1* registration lady that I recognized [the other 3 *always* there ladies being conspicuously absent] looked like she had a gun to her back.

The locals were visibly nervous and shocked and the place had an aura of a silent but palpably threatening tension.

For the first time *ever*, the [D] registration person [who was a complete stranger to me] didn’t even bother looking in her book for my name while the always-present [R] lady held out her hand for my license.

The female huge black person chatted up the unrecognizable “new people’ but practically shoved me out the door, with an undisguised scowl.

*Who* were all those unfamiliar people?
Everybody here knows everybody else and nobody knew them.

*When* did we suddenly get a large “minority population”?

*Where* were they walking from?

[_right beside_ that community hall is I-70 and a gas station with a very large trucker rest area, the furthest reaches of which cannot be seen from the road after dark]

Why do this *here*, in ‘we really don’t matter’ world?

Gay marriage, college for illegals and gambling...all 3 of which W.MDers oppose.

IMO, they learned from the Ehrlich “hillbilly turnout” and were ‘prepared’ for us.

If so it would indicate a 70% turnout.

Which is more than twice the national average, and a flashing neon warning sign of a massive vote-fraud operation.

But good luck explaining that to someone after they hear the 141% number. A lot of these claims are invented to be debunked so they cast doubt on the real evidence.

I’m dropping my Republican registration next Friday, and will re-register as an Independent. The spineless worm into which the GOP has morphed will not find me on its rolls.

“The only positive is that when the collapse comes and we go the way of Greece, the guy most responsible for it will still occupy the White House.”

We won’t go the way of Greece. Greece doesn’t have it own currency. It has to pay its bills in euros.

We can always pay our bills, just rev up the printing presses.

Since videos and photos are officially banned, there is not much that could be done, beyond an alert poll watcher with a photographic memory noting how some of these very odd voters signed (I know from Hagerstown that most blacks in hillbilly territory have more of a redneck attitude than a ghetto one) and then go check on that person later to see if that’s who it really was. If it’s not all hell should break loose.

Romney 'lost' by three million votes...how much of that was 'fraud'?

Zero got 61 million votes (EIGHT MILLION LESS than last time) ...even if you assume those are legit (and they clearly are NOT, as evidenced by your story and many others); that is less than 20% of the population...it is only 25% of the eligible voters in this country.

Zero does NOT have an overwhelming mandate from the people...period.

The only effect being that you won’t be able to cast a vote in a GOP primary any more... way to go!

We all are furious about this upset, which frankly WAS an upset, and many are looking for something to take this fury out on, and identify an easy but inappropriate target. Satan dances his glee dance when this happens.

You should get that over to ‘The Blaze’...they are the ONLY news outlet that is fighting for the TRUTH. Let’s not waste time with FOX or Drudge.

That would be a good idea. Unfortunately, it is now too late. Maybe after the collapse.

Some was cheating, more I believe was the kind of open dishonesty that expresses itself through gutter level appeals and also the kind of vote pumping that comes from scouring the mean streets on Election Day.

There is no easy analogy for the GOP. Most people who would vote for a Republican would be wary about riding some odd bus that shows up on their relatively affluent street. Maybe if the bus was announced weeks in advance it wouldn’t seem so weird, though.

The poll watchers were ‘not from around here’.

Somehow I can’t see them ratting themselves out.

Elsewhere, someone else suggested some invested rich donor (hello, Donald Trump?) establish a bounty fund for those providing evidence that leads to a conviction on voter fraud. I’d add, it ought to be enough for that person to be able to pick up and move out of his/her neighborhood.

Then the rat-outs will come thick and heavy.
