University of Wisconsin students and employees have unlimited ride passes. There are concerns the bus passes are being used fraudulently. So, beginning Monday, an employment or school photo ID will be required.
UW-Madison employee and student bus passes are non-transferable. So, if the users don't have their IDs, the passes will be confiscated and a 1-day pass will be offered.

But that’s racist. Everyone knows that bus passes is code for poor, black, minorites in general. They are trying to suppress these groups by making it impossible for them to get on the bus. They can’t get IDs because they are illegal aliens (racist policy) or too poor (black and other minorities) can’t speak english (racial profiling agiain)
I think the student GOP should take them to court.
When will the lawsuits about rider suppression begin? Madison, WI requiring photo ID to use free bus passes.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
This will work out just fine... Until the bus driver is beaten/stabbed/shot for trying to enforce this regulation.
This is just throwing GOP stupidity and nonchalance in their faces. The people came up with this probably couldn’t keep a straight face while sending out the press release.
Completely unacceptable! People who use public transportation can not be expected to have brains enough to get photo IDs! This is racist!
