Is FDR's proposed Second Bill of Rights going to make a comeback in this new Obama term?

I am an immigrant from a formerly socialist country who now lives in Palm Desert. I arrived in the United States on March 12, 1974. It's been a long journey.

If you had my background, you would understand my concerns for the seeping of socialist policies into the laws of our great country, the "Land of the Free."

Here is a piece I wrote regarding how seemingly "nice," "just," and politically correct ideas can be unfair and jeopardize freedom itself.

I originally wrote the following essay on March 29, 2010 examining the merits of FDR's Second Bill of Rights - an example of how good intentions could result in unintended consequences...

It is too soon for FDR’s Second Bill of Rights.

First, they must collapse the west into ruin and chaos.

Second, they will offer citizen participation in the writing of a new constitution. Of course, the limitations of the old one will never be included.

What do you think the addition to food stamp recipients is? It’s at 49 million up from 35 million I believe. That IS the 2nd Bill of Rights.

Nice work.

People have forgotten the warning that a government with the ability to give us all we want has the power to take everything we have.

I actually think one of the lesser discussed keys from the lost election is the idea that we need to REALLY improve about how we address communicating the WHY of Conservatism as one of the two or three strategic areas.

If people cant understand the context of why Socialism must be opposed by Conservatism them we will have little interest or support by the public as we seek to enact our principles in Government.

Your piece with personal testimony about what its like to live under the rule of centralized collectivist government is invaluable in our effort.

Thanks.

Good commments. This is a bit off topic but to your point of communicating the “wy” we need to use new media, e.g. Facebook, youtube, etc as well as find ways to overthrow the MSM. On later we need to infiltrate MSM as well as expose and take down those in MSM spreading lies and propaganda. As it is we are spitting into the wind of a propaganda machine.

We have turned off Diane Sawyer, Morley Safer, George Stephanopolis, Brian Williams, Soledad O’Brien and the rest of the liberal talking heads who come off as sooooooooooo “intellectual”. - At this point, frankly, Rush is just about the only one I’ve heard who’s talking any sense.
