Sorry guy,
Either that was way too intellectual for me to grasp, or you’re an idiot. Either way, I’m not feeling the “burn”.
This idea of a ConCon has been ballyhooed about for a long time now. I doubt seriously that it will happen.
I have thought the arguments against it are wrong for a long time. Most of the arguments are that the left would take over the convention. Well, they’ve already taken over most of the Federal gov. so what is there to lose really? Sudden and decisive victory or death vs. the current lingering death by a thousand cuts and all the misery that goes along with it?
Personally, I’d like to see an Article 5 convention and kick the living hell out of the 20 or so states that so richly deserve it.
If the electoral collage were truly a States vote to elect the president all would have two votes just like the Senate is composed and we would not be having this discussion. Instead the States are not equal as was agreed in the articles of confederation.
And no, I don’t give a damn about being fair as long as my side wins.
And here in WV, a one-party state for 80 years, we just elected two statewide candidates (Attorney General, first time in 80 years, and a second Supreme Court justice) AND we added 10 State House seats for 45 of 100, a modern record. I can hardly wait for next time to make it a majority!
“That may be true but fewer voted. And why would 21% vote for Obama???????? Who are these people?????”
They count liberal mainline churches in the “evangelical” category, which is nuts.
The Bible believing, regularly attending types are probably up there at 95% or so.
In re: “fewer voted,” please note the total gross number of votes continues to rise.
John Podhoretz: As I write, Mitt Romney has 57.4 million votes. John McCain ended up with 59.9 million. Its a little noticed fact that in two weeks following every presidential election, votes continue to be reported by the millions. As I recall, Barack Obama got something like four million more votes in the weeks after election day, while John McCain got two or three million. Its likely that by Thanksgiving, the final vote tally will show Romney very close to or even slightly exceeding McCains total.”
Not during an economic depression, they don’t.
My heart is in the right place as is yours and we probably agree on about 99.9% of the time on social issues. I also happen to like Jack Danials-7 but that is besides the point. My issue with your statements and others is that not voting is no way to win a fight. If someone is breaking into your house and you do not like the Sherrif you don’t abandon your home to the thieves. Well Thses thugs in office are thieves and we need a sherrif, any sherrif even one that we don’t like.
BTW my clan is from Colonsay
On the other hand, maybe it was us 58+ million that voted for Romney that should have voted for Johnson. Just sayin'...
I’m not an idiot, but you and your ilk got Obama elected. I was a Palin fan, then a Gingrich fan, then a Santorum fan, then when Romney won the nomination, I knew the only chance we had against ZerO was to vote for him.
You can whine, bitch or moan about the Primary process, but once someone was there, you HAD to support him. 3 to 5 million people didn’t come out and vote, or voted for Gary Johnson and voila! Soetero.
My thinking exactly. Let’s have the debate. The LEFT’S arguments don’t pass the test of common sense—and if the people were engaged, it would give us the opportunity to educate the electorate. The LEFT would not be able to get the 3/4 of the state legislatures to ratify
There are so many capable, sincere conservatives at the state level who are not compromised by the Washington God of Re-Election. They would CRUSH the left in a head to head. What a refreshing change to have the war of ideas, unfettered and unfiltered by the LEFTIS press. I wonder if there is any initiative underway in the states.
I suppose we’re destined to disagree on that point.
I’m not the one here who’s whining. I’m simply stating a fact. I won’t vote for a candidate or party that refuses to represent the Constitutional Conservative position. Apparently 3 million or so registered voters agree with me.
Mr Daniel is an old acquaintance of mine as well...
My heritage is Galloway, born to the Bratach Ban nan Stubharatach.
I also suffer from strong opinions. Far from advocating surrender, I don’t see the future in bringing a knife to a gunfight, or fighting the liberals with another liberal.
I respect your opinion, but I’ll not be “shamed” into abandoning my principals. I’ve fought and bled to earn that right.
Count the solid RED states and get back to me.
Ratification requires 38? That means 13 can defeat ratification
1. New York
2. New Jersey
3. Conneticutt
4. Massachusetts
5. Rhode Island
6. Vermont
7. New Hampshire
8. Maine
9. Pennsylvania
10. Ohio
11. Floriduh
12. Wisconsin
13. Illinois
14. Iowa
15. Colorado
16. New Mexico
17. Nevada
18. Kalifornia
19. Oregon
20. Washington
21. Hawaii
What else do you need to know?
Nice idea but come up with another plan... that one won’t work.
