Resident: "Staten Island is dead... it's been abandoned... Obama and Bloomberg lied to us..."
Fox News Live | 11/9/12 | Boden

Posted on 11/09/2012 7:46:28 AM PST by pabianice

Staten Island resident William Boden interviewed by phone. Staten Island has been abandoned. No electricity, no gas, no heat. People without shelter, clothing, food, water. Staten Island is gone and will never come back. Obama and Bloomberg lied to us. Red Cross absent. Promised FEMA aid absent. No aid of any kind. People lost all personal possessions in flooded, wrecked houses.

So true. The Baltimore Democrat Party Daily Newsletter ie: the Baltimore Sun had a small story about the snowstorm and nothing else about NY or NJ and Sandy. A friend was up helping last week and siad the damage is beyond devastating, but we’ll never know.

Where are the celebrities bellyaching like Katrina?

Last week Bette Midler was having a costume party at the Waldorph...not worried about the homeless down the street.

[We are going to become East Germany...]

Yes, sadly it’s true, and it will have to escalate quickly for them to succeed.

Cast your eyes on the UN when we, along with all ‘free nations’ will be relegated to a minor members status with the voting powers of the weakest of the weak.

Our military is not OUR military any more, it’s THEIRS and they have disseminated it to the weakest point in recent memory.

It’s sad that the former strongest military on earth will be unable to or ordered to STAND DOWN.

A military that have rushed in to save OTHER countries from tyranny is being handcuffed and suppressed from doing the same for our own Republic

Perhaps that is better phrased...our former Republic. I pray not but at this point nothing short of a revolution backed by patriotic generals to restore our Republic will save us.

Exactly! Obama voters getting a little karmic payback.

No not exactly, it's wrong.

53% of Staten Islanders voted for McCain/Palin in 2008, while the rest of the country voted for Obama by 7 points.

49% of Staten Islanders voted for Romney/Ryan in 2012, down a little because most of the affected neighborhoods in Staten Island vote Republican and they no longer live there. Meanwhile the country went for Obama by 2 points.

So since the country is more pro Obama than Staten Island, since you think that Staten Island is getting "a little karmic payback", and since you live in the good old USA, do you think a "little karmic payback" on your house a property is in order?

I am trying to feel bad.... but it’s not working. All they have to do is call their Obama boy, he said he wouldn’t leave anyone behind.

Another one. Both you and Obama.

I’ll bet these people voted 90% demonrat. I say, “Screw Them!”. Schadenfreude is such a warm and good feeling.

Another idiotic comment.

And ironic too since you're from NV.

I want to help, but I don’t want to help, but I have to help, but I ...

It’s been tough.

I used to stop along the highway, whip a big hydraulic jack out of the back of my car, up went the traveler’s vehicle, quick change of their tires, and away they went.

The last couple were just amazed - they were from Richmond, IN, and I’m still very glad I stopped and helped.

One more time came along, as I was traveling west, I spotted a gal all by herself with a flat tire in the east-bound lanes ... so I crossed the highway to help her.

Her wheel was rusted on her car. I managed to get it loose (WD-40 plus muscle). I handed her some cash so that she could continue her journey to a station that would install a good tire.

I just cannot do that anymore; there are so many con artists; I’m just too vulnerable now, to lies that people tell and false perceptions to which they cling.

So, I do what I can for the Salvation Army. This year, I will be able to donate 1/20th the amount that I used to *dare* to donate. 1/20th; I tried so hard to hang on to my job.

The mentality of “the suits” in “corporate America” which obsesses over “moving forward” and “going forward” and *BEING* politically-correct, and *REFUSES* to hire managers who are *good leaders,* has led to decades of rotting production, in which, some of us have continued to stand up and make up for the bad work caused by bad management decisions ... if only to keep our jobs ... yet upper management failed to step in and get rid of anti-productive managers among the executive and floor management structures.

In the name of efficiency and lowering costs, what management have done is create barriers to efficiency that have increased production times.

A process that once took 20 steps, but the workers *know it* and the jobs get done well, was replaced by a process *on paper* that takes -— according to the bad manager who constantly is lobbying for the next, and then the next, “implementation of ___” -— just 17 steps AND THE MANAGEMENT FAIL TO VERIFY THAT CLAIM.

Time and again, over and over, trusting but not verifying ... and worse:

The management continued to abuse the members of the shop floor who tried to bring to the attention of said management, that the promises by the “lobbyist” are in fact, strenuous exercises involving more work on the floor, and are more steps, not less ... “If you would please, sir, come with me to the shop floor and allow me to show you.”

The answer has not only been, “No!” emphatically, but an added “I don’t want to hear about this again, unless you have the facts.” Which response flies in the face of *needing very much to demonstrate the facts by management accompanying the talented workers who have maintained production ... to the shop floor in order to see what is happening and how things are really working!*

Management has more and more, wanted what *appears to work on paper,* but management fails to accompany the troops, to see what life is like in the trenches.

So it is no surprise, that on the occasion of this election, the troops were discouraged easily by the enemy, and the troops did not come out of the trenches.

Yea, and how many of these victims were squawking the loudest about Bush's mismanagement of Katrina. These folks would all be better off with Bush than Obama but there would never be capable of recognizing that fact. Heck, they don't even know they're a bunch of hypocrites.

Staten Island voted for Bush twice and McCain/Palin once.

Meanwhile when was the last time your state voted for a non statist?

You're the hypocrite.

If 53% voted for McCain, that means 47% voted for Obama in 2008. If 49% voted for Romney in 2012, that means 51% voted for Obama. So what are you saying? It’s the exact split we saw in this election.

Well, I gotta be me. My heart hurts for the conservatives of New York, but the libs can eat maggots for all I care. I know, that’s cold blooded, but it is what it is. I didn’t draw the line, they did.

I think I might have upset you with my attitude, but I do wish you a good day.

Bless you for your postm Newfy. I had almost given up expecting to find any humanity on this thread. What on earth has happened to Free Republic?? I was beginning to think I must be on DU. It’s easy to be critical when you and yours are warm and dry and have plenty to eat, and place to sleep without being surrounded by sewage. They need to be prayed for too.

We have been looking for a charity which aids directly. We usually give to the Salvation Army but I haven’t heard of their involvement. We just contributed $100 on Mercy Chef’s website; the nice part is you can designate where it goes. I chose Staten Island. I’ll just hang around and wait for the snide comments

I can't imagine how you can get power back on to those people. Isn't it impossible to work on the power when everything is saturated with sand and water. How is this going to get fixed asap with a mess like this. These people should take their FEMA money and come to PA!
