Barack Obama may have won the election, but it is a victory devoid of triumph.
Obama ran a lackluster election campaign, one distinguished more by harsh attacks on his opponent Mitt Romney than by pride in his own accomplishments. Just how narrow the victory was can be seen in the popular vote count. While the incumbent easily defeated his challenger in the Electoral College, he only managed to eke out a razor thin majority of total votes cast.
Republican candidate Romney proved instead to be an opponent who will quickly be forgotten by history -- an inept, even awkward politician.

So far there are two impeachable offenses: Fast & Furious and Benghazi
Nixon was impeached over a stupid hotel burglary and no one even died! IMPEACH OBAMA!!!
What is this “tough road” BS all about!? It will NOT be a tough road with spineless jellyfish like Boner et al. The kenyan will have smooth sailing all the way.
A story we won’t see here. Our media will rally round the Great Leader.
You really think Harry Reid is going to do the right thing and let them convict him?
Or that Boehner, “The healthcare law is the law of the land” guy will have the guts to seek impeachment?
Watergate was different, back then Republicans and the public were genuinely appalled at what happened. The Democrats don’t care as long as they’re winning.
Meow
What exactly is “tough” about Obama’s road? He won, even with a disastrous economy, Benghazigate, unprecedented debt and record numbers of people on welfare and food stamps. This is exactly what he wanted.
There’s absolutely nothing rough about the road Obama is traveling.
“TOUGH ROAD” is all by design.
The Kenyan seeks our total demise as a great nation. He’s close.
Dear Leader feels triumphant every time he looks in the mirror.
Nixon was never impeached — he left because he was told to by a group of Republican bigwigs.
Romney couldn’t beat Obama?
Romney didn’t beat McCain.
Disgraceful. A billion dollar campaign? What did Republicans get for their money?
McCain, 2008 popular vote: 58,319,442
Romney, 2012 popular vote: 58,163,978
That is the biggest fact of this election and no one is talking about it.
That is not the issue. Principals, the Rule of Law and the Future of the US are the issues. What will stop the next conservative President from establishing a hit list with American citizens on the list. We will get some support from the left on these issues. The main goal should be to diminish the Obama Presidency and to illuminate these very serious crimes against US citizens. We should make future Presidents think twice before committing these crimes, otherwise the US has no future.
Or that Boehner, The healthcare law is the law of the land guy will have the guts to seek impeachment?
Vote him out. There is an election soon to determine the new house leaders. Get someone in there who is not a metro sexual. Preferably someone with military experience.
Actually, McCain’s popular vote total was 59,950,323...
(comprehensive results back to 1789 - look for the 2008 results)...
...and Romney has 58,167,260 so far through 12:10pm today...

Keep checking back to that site for updates; they will probably keep it going for another week or so... nearly *all* of the absentee ballots have yet to be counted, and that is millions more votes to add to the totals; the states differ as to final certification dates; the earliest would be 15 days, November 21. Others will not be for 30 days, December 6.
Romney will likely catch McCain’s 59,950,323 and hit the 60 million number at the end of the counting.
By Electoral College day, you should be able to look at the first site and get the *final* Final Totals.
Your point is well taken though; basically, after a Billion + dollars were spent by each campaign; Romney convinced exactly zero people to vote for him over and above what McCain did. McCain’s campaign was easily the worst campaign ever on the R side (McGovern’s on the D side was their worst). Romney couldn’t top it. The reason is that he is to the left of ‘maverick’ McCain.
Romney was the gun-grabbing; big-government, abortion-supporting, Wall Street CEO Governor of *Massachusetts* (!); presider of the introduction of gay ‘marriage’ architect of Socialized Medicine in the United States.
In other words, the *PERFECT* Democrat resume. Sans Obama, if Romney had happened to have a D after his name, the same Democrats that loathe him, would be crawling over broken glass to go vote for him.
So between Obama and Romney; if you are going to have to vote for a D anyway; you might as well vote for a *real* one; hence Obama re-elected.
Update: As of 5:10pm; Romney now has 58,222,855 votes.

This slow slog will continue all of next week in fits and starts. some updates will just be for a couple thousand votes; some for much more, say, if an entire state reports and certifies its absentee ballots; but we are probably a week or so away from those numbers starting to file in, in large quantities.
Excellent points, thanks for the links.
Now 58,479,114 at 10:15am; 11/10/12
59,126,638 as of 11/13/12 @ 11:00pm
(Obama now at 62,604,550)
