America, A Quaint Memory....
Original Content | Nov 9, 2012 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 11/09/2012 12:39:44 AM PST by Lazamataz

It appears the America I knew and loved will be a quaint memory.

By whatever means, the forces of the extreme left have undertaken, and apparently succeeded, in performing the coup de grace on a staggering nation.

The causes of their Presidential election-year victory are many. They include:

Fraud helped tip this election. While it is entertaining to think of ways to unseat the benefiters of such fraud, it is not likely to happen. The fraudulent results shall stand. And, the fraud will snowball, as those who benefit from the fraud make sure no laws can be enacted to prevent fraud. It will increase, and it does not appear there is any recourse to stop it.

Demographics helped tip this election. This is another unrelenting trend. Single mothers will not lessen any time soon, and these women tend to view government as a caretaker -- and so they look to Democrats. There is talk in the Republican camp of loosening immigration standards and, probably, amnesty for illegal aliens. Therefore, we will continue to see an inexorable rise in the number of Latinos in America. I say this without judgment, but merely as an observation. However, they vote predominantly Democrat.

And as our students are relentlessly taught morals and values that the extreme left holds dear, the adults who will stand by our side, and eventually replace us, will continue to add to the numbers of the extreme left citizenry.

What can we expect?

  1. A Republican party who, pointlessly, will shift far to the left. They will not capture any more votes than the Democrats, of course. But they will try.

  2. No more Republican Presidents, ever. George W. Bush is very likely the last Republican President you will see in your adult lifetimes.

  3. Congressmen and Senators will be increasingly Democrat, until, as in California, there will be a supermajority in both Houses of Congress. In short, American politics will become a single-party affair.

  4. Firearms ownership will be drastically curtailed, via a UN Treaty that will subvert, if not supercede, our Second Amendment. The world looks at America as an oddball, and the world wants our guns gone.

  5. We will be increasingly Socialist/Communist. Socialism and especially Communism destroys innovation, strips hope, and makes poverty universal.

I, your humble author, wish I had better news. I wish I had a solution to all this. I don't. Perhaps someone smarter than I can come up with an idea.

I will mention this: The solution must be Gramscian in nature, that would allow us to slowly subvert the forces of Marxism. Gramsci was a Marxist himself, and he came up with the concept of a 'political society' (which rules through force) and a 'civil society' (which rules through consent). The Marxists understood this and realized that the most powerful ideological shifts can only come by the will of the people. The failures of Nazi Germany and the USSR generally show the Marxists that force is a poor substitute for civil will. It should show us the same.

There are those among us I hear speaking of a complete collapse of the US economy as a solution -- a reset button, if you will. Does anyone seriously believe that a government that would follow would be MORE like the America of liberty and free enterprise that we yearn for? Remember, the citizenry (with great voter fraud help) voted Obama back into office after a miserable four-year leftist performance. Even without the voter fraud, there still remains fully half of America that holds the ideals of the left as sacrosanct. We can dismiss the 'reset button' idea as impractical and unlikely to achieve our goals.

Any solution we undertake will be and must be, multi-generational. We will not live to see its fruits. There must be a meeting of great minds to start determining a long term course that will help return our land to the liberty and the love of free enterprise we once had.

I do have some good news. It appears that the left is not choosing to kill its enemies, at least not yet. I hope they continue to remain nonviolent. If they have studied Gramsci well, they probably will remain nonviolent. Political force is ultimately self-defeating.

If that remains the case, we can still pursue our lives. We can raise our children, marry, laugh, love and honor our God, and enjoy and build the best life we can, albeit at a lower standard of living than we have had. I recommend that, while still searching for a solution to these issues, each and every one of you do this very thing. We have no control over the nation, ultimately (though we can impart our small spin) so enjoy your life to the fullest!

I thought I’d be over it by now, but I’m still grieving, albeit without the wholesale sobbing that was going on earlier in the week. I felt better last night, but then I got a look at what would’ve been the website for Romney’s transition, and it killed me all over again.

Thanks especially for your last paragraph, Laz. My husband said something very similar, and I’m trying to hang onto it. God IS completely in control, and I am going to focus on Him, family, friends, home, and my FR family.

Larry, if those who will not sign on to the socialist model of oppressive federal oligarchy will raise their children to be more self-reliant and do their best to close OUT the debauchery onslaught from Hollyweird and TV, and home school their children, then a more virtuous people will rise up in the midst of the debauched democrat socialist society and become the light to many who haven't a clue but love their children. It is an internal flux which can save America, but which is very hard to define in sound-byte communication.

Sting had a song titled 'I Hope The Russians Love Their Children too', IIRC. We can hope the liberals love their children too, and that as the society becomes more and more cancerous at least some of these progressive fools will awaken to see the destruction they are endorsing which is destroying their children. But we can only accomplish it through example, because one of the hallmarks of liberals and leftists is that they have closed minds so rhetoric has no chance of awakening such dead souls.

Here is the quote: “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.” ― Alexis de Tocqueville

That, to an extent, but also be prepared to run from the tsunami, because that is coming too.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. And pray.

“Maybe we old whites should all “go Galt” to the max possible, and not pull the wagon any more. “Your turn. Good luck.” And move away from the predictably dangerous urban conflict zones, into deep red counties in deep red states. That CW2 Cube thing.”

Already there - am in Montgomery County in Texas, the most Republican county per capita in Texas - at least 95% Republican. Getting close to 400,000 in the county but the county is very large, lots of rural area as well as small towns. Our Republican office stays open all year, not just when there is an election.

There is a diversity of people here - from middle income to rich. Every election, state office candidates come here for money and exposure. Same for federal candidates - coming for money and to get their message out. Eric Cantor was here a few months ago. Palin and Cruz (now US senator elect) were here together a few days before the primary.

That was during the Chick-Fil-A thing and Palin and husband were photographed at one of our stores here while getting their chicken.

There is no place better to live than this county. Every office holder is a Republican. We like guns in this county and there is a shooting range about 3-4 miles from me.

There are regular gun shows in a convention center type building every so many months and it's always packed.

Medical services are excellent here and since we are about 60 miles north of Houston, a more serious disease can be treated there in the Houston Medical Center - among the best in the world.

If you are in a blue state and want a red state in which to live, Texas, come to the most extreme red county in Texas, Montgomery. I think Humblegunner lives somewhere in this area, but don't know his exact area.

I live right at that magical spot where EMC, Harris & Liberty meet.

I'm in the last little bit of Harris, by virtue of zipcode.

Wouldn't trade it for the world.

No, we reserved the right to divide into five separate states. I don’t really want to weaken Texas that way.

Regardless, our rights come from God not the Union. So if it comes to secession, we have the right to claim it. Whether or not the Union would allow us to secede without violence is another story.

Okay, I know where you are, not far from me (zip down my east 105 to Cleveland and find the tri county meeting spot from there. I was in Liberty County a lot giving election law seminars every primary for a number of years - did that in Cleveland, town of Liberty, and Beaumont. I lived in San Jacinto County for a number of years before I came to Montgomery County.

I think we are in a good place to weather whatever happens.

Now, if we could just get Jim R. to move here....

Sounds terrific, as is Clay County FL, just south of Duval County/Jacksonville. The difference is, ocean access for escape pods. Otherwise, I’d probably head to Texas.

Thanks for the ping. My .02:

do have some good news. It appears that the left is not choosing to kill its enemies, at least not yet. I hope they continue to remain nonviolent. If they have studied Gramsci well, they probably will remain nonviolent. Political force is ultimately self-defeating.

My cursory knowledge of history tells me that when commies/muzzies gain power, they do indeed kill the "enemy". Either wholesale or whoever pops his head up and clings to something that is non-Koran, a fire arm, non-commie a**ksing opinion, their own children, their private property, etc. So the "so far they're aren't killing us yet" statement hinges on the "yet". And if you read Nachum's Dead Pool, there are a fair number of bodies already, just not en masse at this point. I think it a vain hope to hope that our lives and property will not be taken from us.

I think you need to remove your rosy colored glasses. They are just getting started. Just now accelerating. Home schooling, any opposition to any jot and tittle of their noxious pro-muzzie, commie, hate whitey, fag luving agenda will be verboten in the near future - IF no serious opposition stands up against them. There's so much in the wings - stuff like mandatory mental health screening (with mandatory "treatment" if you're nuts enough to not swallow their toxic evil swill), children are not OURS but the property of the state to be raised as THEY say, not us; churches and any houses of worship not allowing fag marriage and Koran reading will be taxed or closed, guns and ammo HA HA HA HA HA, property and other taxes skyrocketing so we are forced out of our homes, affirmative action on steroids and testing political, social and religious views to see if we qualify to get jobs/health care/food/a place to live/air to breathe/keep our children, etc. These are just a few off the top of my head.

And any more "elections"? Give me a freaking break. What we had was not an election. Either the Rs in Congress find strong principles and courage, or state governors and legislatures do (or both), or the mil somehow decides they've had enough, or millions of people go to DC and campout with torches and pitchforks, or:

Ravines, death camps, and re-education camps and mass extermination. I don't know why you think they'll allow us to live our private lives in peace. Hell, they already don't.

HOW in the heck do we EVER get it through the RNC’s heads that we’re DONE with them? That they need to change NOW!

I switched my voter registration to Independent. I don't care if they get the message or not, I just couldn't stomach being associated with so much breath-taking stupidity. I believe the GOP is well on its way to Whig status now.

I think Texas and Oklahoma would make a great start for a new republic. Of course, we’d have to let the leeches in the big cities move to Chicago and NYC.

I agree with your comments.

The Gods of the Copybook Headings

AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.

We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
