The New Welfare Swindle. (CRAZY MONEY)
American spectator ^ | 11/17/11 | By Christopher Orlet

Ever since I moved to the inner city one thing has puzzled me more than any other, and that is how my low-income neighbors get by. Assuming they aren't doing anything illegal, how do they afford their homes, their meals, their gadgets, their cars?

Few seem to work, even part time, for they are home in the morning when I leave for work, home if I stop by for lunch, and home when I return in the evening. They can't work the graveyard shift, for they keep me up half the night with their raucous music. I am left to conclude that they seldom, if ever work. Therefore, their funds must come from elsewhere. And none of them strike me as a trust fund baby.

The best I can figure is they make do with a patchwork of welfare programs. Besides, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), which expires after five years, there is housing assistance, WIC (Women, Infants and Children) and Medicaid. There are food stamps, which also can be sold in parking lots for cash, and various lesser programs, such as heating assistance.

Even now, you get the card replaced and get the $600 back. It just takes a couple weeks.

So I’m an unmarried female (black, white, hispanic - take your pick) who has multiple children by multiple baby daddys, just like my mother. I have faked mental illness so I can get SSI. All my kids are on medicaid and I get lots of owebama stash on my EBT card. Since I am mentally ill I can have my momma be the foster parent for my babies while I’m busy making more of them. That way SHE gets lots of money too.

Hey! It’s a family business.

You’d better check first if that money is still on the card. Go with the sellers through the checkout line when they buy a bag of beans and look at the receipt to see what the balance says.

Or so that’s what they say on the street

Your street corner pharmacist will not take your card for his wares. Strictly cash and carry.

Read an economic history of 21st century Argentina, and then say you wish that on America, although that’s where I think we’re headed.

AND with another Social Security number you could even have a little job somewhere and get unemployment or worker’s comp on the side. Social Security card only costs $50 bucks or so, worth the investment.

I used to sell employee benefits and when you talk to some immigrant employees you can uncover several of their SSNs and their ways to game the system.

That was over 10 years ago.

People who get permanent disability checks for the rest of their lives (Lupus, Carpal Tunnel, myasthenia gravis) are able to earn up to a certain dollar amount each month. They can’t go over the government limit. Not much incentive for them to ever work again. But:

Plenty of them are getting paid in cash under the table. The money is never reported or taxed, they have a guaranteed income from UncleSam that pays the car+lights-for the rest of their life, and they’ve got twice the income anyone knows about.

When tax time rolls around, they buy SS# on the street, and file taxes showing 8 fake dependents and get back $4500 - $6000+ in cold hard cash by mid-January.

Believe me: If there is a way to work or game the system, the people have it figured out and are doing it.

Hey, my post crossed paths with yours, and how ironic we both used “game the system”.

I have seen & heard about so many scams the nonworking and lazy come up. More time spent on figuring out ways to scam than to just work.

One that has been more popular is selling their public housing to friends & relatives. Person A’s name comes up to receive public housing, she sells it to Person B under the table. Housing authorities don’t check & don’t care who moves in. Person A gets food stamps & assistance in one county, Person B gets assistance in next county over, they hit the churches & food pantries ea week, and “share” the kiddies as proof they need the help.

I’m not sure people who work understand just how much it occurs. It’s the rule, not the exception.

WOW. I never heard of that one, but I was pretty naive when I saw the scams I did see.
I also went to a project (a white lady in red sports car, very intelligent decision, right?) where I was asked to meet an employee who had relatives. The guy said he “told them I was coming” so I and my car were safe.
All of them worked for the City and between them they made huge money, (I had access to payroll info) but they still chose to live together in the project, because that’s all they knew.
So where did all the spare money go? They had more of it than I did, that’s for sure, with free benefits included. But everywhere there was nothing but gray, broken glass and mismatched furniture. Not one green thing in sight and no sign of anything in the least upscale. Again, where was the money going? The modern day plantation?
Eye opening.

Back in the bad old days when food stamps were actually stamps, this could be done. But today food stamps are doled out via a credit card. There is still a way to get cash though. You go into a grocery, pay for a bunch of expensive steaks with your EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card and then sell the steaks for 50-60 cents on the dollar.

hey bro...you say your card is worth $1,500....I’ll give you 750.00 cash for it.....O.K., $800.00....SOLD!

thats excatly how they do it. in massachusetts they have 20000 lost ebt cards per month. (meaning they sell the card and report it lost)this why those people felt like they could vote 5 times in phily, no one ever calls them on it.

“I’m not sure people who work understand just how much it occurs. It’s the rule, not the exception.”

Years ago, I had a conversation with a fellow who was on the public assistance rolls in 4 states. His “work month” was travelling to the 4 cities to collect the bennies. Chicago, Columbus, Louisville and Indianapolis. Sharp business accumen. How does this happen or are the elites in charge just that dim? Fraud? What fraud?

I will tell you how they do it.

They are pure opportunists and there is almost nothing they will not do.

If it’s not tied down, steal it.

If you aren’t strong enough to hold on to it, it’s mine.

Learn to live on a shoe string.

Don’t chastise your children for begging, and don’t be above it yourself.

Learn every way to game the system and then pass the word.

Prostitution is absolutely ok.

Cheat on your taxes.

Live three generations to a house.

When you do work, do menial labor and steal from your employers.

Give your children a totally anti-social outlook on life so that you can benefit from it later in life and your children can continue to perpetuate to their own progeny.

Rent alone can be a big expense on the fixed income of SSI.

Demand that congress stop the rape and pillage of SSI.

Of course I agree with you but what makes you think Congress will stop any of it?

Most likely, they will also be drawing Section 8 housing-—which can continue for LIFE. Your tax money pays 80% of their housing.

I have seen Section 8 recipients driving much better cars than I do & with more jewelry & clothing. Fancy TV’s—you name it.

I work with a gal. She and her husband ( who also works full time) have a son who has been diagnosed with ADHD. They get SSI because of this. They just bought a fancy new house last year on a couple acres of land.

I'm scratching my head.
