Dear Friends,
Like you, I was disappointed by the outcome of election day. But I remain undaunted.
Hundreds of Republican candidates campaigned on real plans to address our runaway debt and looming entitlement crisis and won a strong majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rising conservative leaders like Jeff Flake, Ted Cruz and Deb Fischer will now join me and stalwarts like Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey in the U.S. Senate.
Yet many are still asking: Where do we go from here?
We will certainly face many battles in Congress in the coming months that will give us the opportunity to clearly articulate the failures of liberalism and the common sense of conservative alternatives. We must not shrink from the fight on Capitol Hill or in drawing these distinctions for the American people, regardless of the attempted distortions by the mainstream press.
This election didn't change the fact that wasteful spending has not healed our economy. It hasn't changed the fact that Obamacare will allow bureaucrats to make decisions that should be left to patients and their doctors. It hasn't changed the fact that high taxes and burdensome regulations destroy American jobs and force businesses overseas. And it hasn't changed the fact that our rising $16 trillion debt is crushing our children and grandchildren's hope for a better life. We must redouble our efforts to educate all Americans about the benefits of limited government and individual liberty in their everyday lives.
And there is also an opportunity for conservative leaders to show by example what works in communities, organizations and states that are successfully implementing these principles. Many governors are already leading the way, showing in these islands of freedom that choosing the path of fiscal responsibility has allowed their states to thrive even during the national economic turmoil.
This is why we must continue to fight in Washington and why I remain hopeful that we are not destined for decline. We must limit the burdens the federal government places on families, businesses, cities and states to prosper. Free people making their own decisions in a free market with limited government is what has made us the greatest nation on earth. Freedom will work again if we continue to fight for it.
This two-pronged approach of pushing commonsense solutions and educating at the national level, while working at the state and local level to demonstrate success is conservatisms clear path forward.
Together, let us remain undaunted and committed to the work before us.
Yours in Freedom, Jim DeMint

I would love to see Senator DeMint set up a 2016 exploratory committee.
Can he be minority whip? Although McConnell has shown flickers of life in the last day or so, too, so I’m hoping the GOP will grow a spine or at least a voice.
In any case, all legislators of either party and in either house should be seriously concerned by Obama’s attempt to simply ignore them. In his mind, they are just a rubber stamp, and if they don’t stamp as fast as he’d like, he simply ignores them and goes ahead and issues an executive order. This is what all of them should be fighting against.
Good list--from which the traitorous media can begin working from to discredit them.
It's odd that I don't know ONE person in the mainstream, corrupt-as-a-sucker fish, media. They must all be part of that 1% I'm always hearing about.
Rubio, the RINO & amnesty lovin’ pol who rejected the Tea Party caucus?
NO THANKS!!!!!
DeMint is going to retire in 2016. Niki Haley for Senate?
These guys in Congress have done nothing since they have been there while the GOP has sold us out. Demint may be conservative; but as usual, he can do very little because of the outcomes. I am sick of hearing the BS promising the next election they will do nothing. Nothing is right; except for putting us deeper in the hole.
Mitch McConnell should step aside as Minority Leader for Senator DeMint.
I pray he challenges Mitch McConnell for minority leader.
Willingness to fight the RAT b*stards tooth and nail is the stuff of what leadership is made. Go DeMint!
You are right they will not do a damn thing! Our country will not survive this bleeping president. GOP are nothing but wimps, just look at what boner said yesterday.
Will this bleeping president survive our country?
If a beer truck ran over both Barack and Slow Joe at the same time... could President Bo[eh]ner be any worse?
I agree! Likely won't happen as Jim has already said numerous time that this is his last term and he's looking forward to coming back home to South Carolina.
I had the chance to ask him about this in person and that's what he said.
I was embarrassed by boner. However, we must be careful in knowing this could also be another lie by the Libs to set us up. They love to do that. We need to unite. We know that there are a lot of crooks in Congress; but not all of them. The Libs are taking great advantage while leading us to one world government.
I say be true to yourself and unite.

It’s unfortunate that the people the Republic needs the most, like Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin, don’t seek higher office even though the country needs them now more than ever.
Losers and ne’er-do-wells, though, we have crawling out of the woodwork.
I’m over Sarah Palin.
Thank you **blush**.
