What are our options?
Self | 08 November 2012 | Self

OK, so Obama was re-elected on Tuesday. What are our options?

  1. Bend over and just take it. We wait for four years and try to elect someone who is closer to us in political outlook and perspective. We pay our taxes, call in to conservative talk radio shows, get our grievances off our collective chest. We suck it up and work from the inside to change the system.

However, it took the liberals 80 years of promising free stuff to lazy people in order to make it happen. As conservatives, we will not promise them free stuff. We merely promise them a chance to work hard for a possibility of getting ahead. That is not a recipe for garnering votes from at least half of the people. We will never re-gain our country from within. Ever.

  2. Go with the the flow. This option is different, and may not sit well with most people. Vote for the worst leaders we can--Bernie Sanders, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Maxine Waters, Biden, Reid, Pelosi. Support them in everything they do. Drive this country into the ground as fast as we can. When we've totally destroyed what's left of this wonderful place, we can begin the re-building process--hopefully with more support than we have now.

  3. Fire our employees and become one of the takers. “Show them they can't take from us.” Go Galt. Shrug. Whatever you want to call it. Get off the grid and starve the beast. This option only lasts as long as the government is willing to tolerate you. Once enough people are doing this, they will decide to gather you back in to the fold or kill you. That is a real option. It may work for you, but it will not change this country.

  4. Secede. Our country is gone. This is the most difficult—both physically and emotionally. Physically because, as we all know, The Federal government will not take secession lying down. They will come after those who attempt to leave and it won't be pretty. For those who believe that your fellow citizens won't fire on you, think again. People under authority, and people under orders do things they strongly disagree with merely because someone in authority has told them to do it. It has been proven multiple times in the lab and in the field. It will also be difficult emotionally. This is our country. We would be destroying something wonderful that was founded over 200 years ago. Unfortunately, that country no longer exists, and hasn't for about 80 years or more—since the New Deal was legislated into law. The big decision each one of us has to make is--”Am I willing to sacrifice everything I have and hold dear for a non-guaranteed attempt to bring our country back?” That sacrifice will come—it's not just a possibility.

So. Those are the options as I currently see them to change our country. I am not forgetting prayer. This is something we all must do regardless of the choice(s) we make above. Option 1 is obviously the easiest. We don't have to change our lives, or actually do anything different. Just complain and bend over as they continue to come at us. Option 3 is the most difficult. I am not charismatic. I could not persuade people to join me or any cause I support. It must be started and led by people much better at that than I am.

“Starve the Beast” - I was waiting for that as I read through the replies.

IMO this is the ONLY way we will ever regain some measure of control and sanity. The reason why the left is so successful is that they are the “Free Sh!t” party - they are all about gimmies - with your money of course. We need more than anything to starve the beast - deny them the product of our blood, sweat, and tears.

1) Pray hard for a real, grassroots move of God in this country.

2) Become as self-sufficient as possible and do everything within your power to fight the beast.

We are right where we were in 2010. Nothing has changed.

That is exactly right. We retained the house. If this was a repudiation of conservatism, we would have lost the house. What happened in this election is that in a race where neither base was motivated, the Democratics used every hook and crook in the books, to retain what they had. Every RINO that claims this was a repudiation of conservatism needs to do some soul searching.

"...And, BTW, no more black, brown, or gay people in my life. Apparently our friendship only went one way;..."

And yet I work with "black and brown" people who are military combat veterans, ARDENT Patriots who I would trust on my six in a heartbeat, and they can't stand this fraud who tries to pass himself off as an American, and I know for a fact they did NOT vote for him.

There are many, many folks - black, hispanic, white, asian - who see this man for exactly what he is. And they are just as worried, just as disgusted, just as concerned about the fate of our Country as you and I.

Gays, well, I don't know about them; those that I've met and had to work with during the course of my life almost without fail were hostile, in-your-face militant dickheads. So I responded accordingly.

But lumping all "blacks and browns" together just isn't feasible. We are all truly in this together right now, and further division only helps the Fraud in Chief accomplish our dismantlement quicker.

Know your enemies, yes; but be sure you know your friends as well; 39% of white folks betrayed the country just as quickly as the minorities who are still orgasming over his "victory" and their "revenge".

"...Next time I contract for services, it will be with people who did note vote for Obama and socialism to “get revenge” against me. I thought they were my friends and business associates. I just got educated...."

Revenge is a two-way street, too. And that's something that they'll need to remember. Life is a wheel - what goes around WILL come around again. We need to be sure WE remember it, and act accordingly.

For decades now, conservatives have been warning this country that liberal policies will bankrupt this country.

Even liberals have used this argument (pointing at republicans) saying that spending was irresponsible to the point of fiscal catastrophe.

What we found out in this election (if it was even legitimate) was that the 47% of people on some form of government assistance don’t really give a damn.

What do we need to do about it now???

Nothing. We have already done what we could.

It is time for this nation to learn things the hard way once again. Apparently the great depression wasn’t good enough for us to learn our lesson permanently. Those who lived through it are well into their retirement years if they havn’t already moved on.

Things will take their course naturally in God’s timing...
and when the proverbial sh*t hits the fan, it will be every man for himself... so I hope you’ve been preparing if you already know what is coming.

I think you’ve hit on an important point. Politics is the art of persuasion. So what happens when people stop listening? Do you continue to drone on to an empty room or do you find alternate methods to make your point?
The SDS and the weather-underground sought alternative methods when no one took them seriously in the 60’s. I’m not ready (just yet) to advocate taking a violent approach but I have recognized that the US has assumed a Balkanized stance and are no longer listening to one another.

Personally, my response is threefold - I continue to find more ways to shield my wealth from the looter-class. I am now seeking to avail myself of every “freebie” that I can in true Cloward-Piven style (accelerate the time-bomb). I’ve made provisions for the impending fall. And I will actively seek to punish those who perpetuated this fraud upon my country.

Starve the beast.

One observation, which I make for completeness, not to start a flame war, is that if #5 is self reliance, then there is a #6 which should be added to the list even if it is somewhat hypothetical in the modern world and if only for discussion.

# 6 Immigrate. It is what most of our forefathers did when they lived in Europe, Asia and elsewhere and why they came to the colonies or the USA. They looked at their increasing poverty, limits on freedom and opportunity, government oppression, restriction of religion and conscience, burdensome taxation and they immigrated.

If the USA is truly dead, so that "America" is no more, then what is left is a piece of ground and a country that is financially insolvent. Unlike the old USSR you can still leave, it is not easy but that door is not yet closed. What made America great is not the dirt under your feet but its freedom (both personal and religious) and opportunity. When that ceases, and it is rapidly vanishing, immigrating is an option.

Our options? Well, we can depend upon the limp-wristed, thoroughly spineless Republican leadership to fight Hussein every step of the way (yeah, like THAT’s going to happen) OR we can do what millions have already done—get in a big supply of guns and ammo. The latter is the best idea.

Though I am not happy about this election, I do see a silver lining. Now the Democrats own everything, the economy, Benghazi, Hurricane Sandy, and whatever else comes along. It’s on their heads. Oh yes, they will try to continue to lay blame, but I don’t think it will work.

I have given up hope as far as the Republican party is concerned. I will never again bend my principals and vote for candidates merely as a way to keep someone else out of office. They need to stand for something.

I would also seriously consider a third-party option: conservatives, TEA partiers, libertarians, religious right. We need to build a coallition from these groups that can get something done.

Thank you for sharing that story. Although I don’t agree with you regarding Romney (I was a Newt guy before we got Romney), I am happy for you.

My bride and I continue to be madly in love, but I can relate to your story. She is my 3rd wife and we have been together for over 40 years — she is my guardian angel.

My best friend is living through a “dark place” right now. After 43 years, his high school sweetheart has left him and filed for divorce. He is a wreck. At the moment, I am the only one in his world. He is making progress and I have been trying to help him get through this storm. He is a good man and I believe that he will eventually find someone.

Cheers.....

5. Prepare to fight a bloody war to retake your country as they WILL be attacking us at every turn with extreme violence.

The Republican House is a paper tiger, a joke, nothing to stop these Communists for a few days at most. Gun brags, higher taxes, land grabs, UN treaties, EPA regulations shutting down businesses, etc, will all be passed by decree without a sound from the Republicans. It already has started but will kick into high gear immediately.
