Well put. The Enemy wants and laughs at our self- critizism.
They laughed at me after 3 1/2 hours to Vote in Arlington County,Va. My vote has not mattered in 35 years here. Yet on Nov 6 between 1510 and 1810 at S. 16th St. They were not idiots. I could not believe this huge, orderly, compassionate folk voted for a continuation of the regime.

the total number of votes cast were somehow 2,109,308 less than in 2008!

10 million Americans died since 2008. So we actually did quite well. Given that more older people die than young and more older people are typically more conservative, we probably lost way more than 2 million conservatives. That means we actually picked up some new young conservatives. But not enough. You can't use algebra to solve a calculus problem. This is a rate of change problem not an amount of change.

Conservatives have spoken. Nominate someone who is a conservative.

Didn’t y’all take us for granted by insisting “they will always have to vote for us”. No, no we don’t.

Right, just like all the polls were skewed etc?

Bullshit. Time to stop making up excuses for Romney and face the reality. The Republicans blew it by nominating a loser and they lost.

Next time nominate a conservative. We’ve been saying this since March and now, finally, someone’s going to sit up and take notice.

They did all the work beforehand. The votes were cast whether those people did anything or not.

I totally believe that happened

Bush got 62 million people in 2004.

The Republican party in 2012 is smaller than in 2004, with 59 million voting for Romney this year.

Unless something else is seriously wrong - the republican party usually grows from election to election.

Reagan got 54 million people back in 1984, in the landslide election. It was not until 2004, (20 years later), that the Republicans finally passed Reagan. The result was two republican wins and two republican losses (since Reagan was such a blowout).

1988 to 1996, was three consecutive Republican drops in turnout, but that was due to Perot.

What’s the excuse now?

You can't compare the final results from four years ago with “the day after” totals today. There are still millions of votes to be counted. I found a page from “the day after” four years ago.

The day after the 2008 elections, the numbers were much smaller - votes were/are still being counted. Below is what I found:
National Presidential popular vote totals
November 5th, 2008 · written by paulie cannoli · 7 Comments

From CNN, by way of Ballot Access News, with 97% of the vote counted:

Obama
63,086,600
52%

McCain
55,848,864
46%

Romney/Ryan have surpassed “the day after” count from four years ago. Obama/Biden have not. The numbers will likely increase by millions for both in the next few weeks.

Not enough my a$$. If I can’t even prevent the difference between no comment and triple here by the workings of my connection. Imagine! Consider one One signal causes an error and the server or whatever, defaults to bama. Seriously. They are laughing at us.

They couldn;t stand Palin because she was not “their kind.” Which is why Rove —that par venue—refused to back our candidates in Delaware and Nevada in 2010. It was insane that Palin did not speak at the convention, of only to “hand-off” the baton to Ryan. But the Establishment has already done their bit to trash Palin’s reputation. After McCain capitulation after September 16, 2008, her glamour was not only inconvenient but a threat.
