Puerto Rico has a Republican gov. The one thing I dislike about FR is the constant bashing of Hispanics. There are many of us who are Conservatives, and many more who have served this country honorably in the military.

But you have to understand that “Hispanics” are among the largest law breakers in America. 1/3 of those incarcerated in the federal prison system are illegal aliens. Many who come here are takers not makers, flaunt our laws, form lobbying groups to support lawbreaking, won't learn English, and in the worst case declare they own the southwest. Hell, a few Hispanic entertainers are openly hostile to whites, for what reason I have no idea.
I don’t have a problem with Hispanics. However, I do recognize that unrestricted immigration has made assimilation next to impossible for large sections of Hispanics.
People are just scared because the party’s about ready to collapse, and nobody has any answers to fix things. The Hispanic Question has been around since the 80s, and nobody has answered it correctly.

Puerto Ricans server in the US military at a rate far greater than any other group in this country. I have had the honor of working with many of these fine veterans. Once they start paying taxes, they'll become more conservative.
Not all Hispanics are the same, and bottom line is this, if we don't teach them about the superiority of Conservativism, our side will NEVER win again. Simple demographic fact. So stop Hatin, and start educatin.

Please don't think that the reactions you see are based on ethnicity. Although I can only speak for myself, I believe that most conservatives, and indeed the absolutely overwhelming majority of white Americans have no anti-Hispanic bias. If people on this board thought that Puerto Rico would be a conservative state, and vote with conservatives, they would overwhelmingly be pushing for statehood. People are just scared about further liberal demographic shifts that basically make their own vote nationally irrelevant.
The Republican governor lost, but last time I looked about 2/3rds of the legislature was listed as Republican.
What should insult law abiding Americans of Latino descent is this whole Dem liberal mantra that all Hispanics are in favor of illegal immigration. It’s patronizing and insulting but typical of the lefts view of people by category...skin pigment, genitalia, age.

I don't bash Hispanics; in fact, I kind of like them in a general way. But as a whole their politics reek of statism, and that's inimical to my notions of what a free society ought to be.
Count me as one of those ‘’bashers’’ but with an explanation. To begin with ‘’Hispanic’’ is made up name, meant to lump together New World countries where Spanish is the primary language. My problem with all of this is the constant hyphenating ‘’Hispanic-American’’. How about dropping the’’Hispanic’’ and just call yourselves “Americans’’.
