He is an idiot.

He is hanging out a carrot to see if he can get Obama to agree to larger spending cuts.

What is happening will be him bending over to accept immediate tax increases for future spending cuts that will never ever happen.

I’m now all for a tax increase. Let ALL the “Bush” tax cuts expire. It will result in a nice big Middle Class tax hike that wakes them up. We need a tax hike on the bottom 50% that pay NOTHING too. Now, they get to vote themselves benefits and have the “rich” pay for it. Every lazy bum needs to have skin in the game and pay tax until it hurts.

Mr Boehner, please go home! We the people are fed up with girly men. Your crying game is ridiculous. Stop bending over to the prez who bows to foreign leaders and grow some spine.

GRRRRRRRR. Don’t offer any deals—just shut up and watch what they do/say. Let them come to YOU. My teenager could do a better job than Boehner....

I am NO FAN OF BOEHNER- but that is not what Boehner said!

He said that he was willing to increase revenue- using ROMNEY’s plan for tax reforming loopholes....

now— about Boehner- GET HIM OUT! We need leaders who do more than WRITE LETTERS and “SEEK” ANSWERS!

the problem with the GOP— the elected work HARD to come home and sell us on DC and the GOP ideas instead of hearing OUR voice and working HARD to sell OUR voice to DC and the GOP!

I support sequestration and expiring the Bush tax cuts.

Boehner should tell Obama that if he wants to go back to the Clinton era, then he can get the spending and the taxes of the Clinton era, and hang it around his neck and let him drown in his own rhetoric.

We are leaderless, however the automatic spending cuts would be beneficial. The tax hikes would not but only if they last. I don’t see why leadership is necessary at this point, let the cuts and hikes take their course. Do nothing to stop it.

Dear Mr. Boehner:

Obama’s victory means, for now at least, that the politics of personal destruction and division by identity (“Voting is the best revenge”) has carried the day with a thin majority of the electorate, who seem to believe that the laws of economics, which Obama has never understood, can be reversed. They think that in Greece too, and march in the streets accordingly, as if that could reverse those laws.

In his victory speech last night Obama said that “this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another and to future generations.” Future generations? This from the man who has overseen a $5 trillion increase in the debt that falls on those future generations?

It’s striking, however, how little has actually changed. The House, which controls the public purse, remains solidly Republican. We’re already hearing calls for the majority there to bend to the will of Obama, the Senate, and that thin majority. That would mark the end of the Republican Party, so it’s not likely. Brace yourself, then. It’s either gridlock, or self-destruction. Take your pick.

You cave in Mr. B and the Republican Party is history.

I agree with Boehner, but would go even farther, Give Obama everything he wants, but make him ask for it so everyone knows where the responsibility lies! You want to work together? You want bipartisanship. You got it. Take all the tax hikes you want. All the debt you can pile on. America wants Obama? Give it to them full throttle!

Why did Bonehead make this grand idea of his public 1 day after the
Election, instead of before? Could it be the voters he depended on to
Show up at the polls would have stayed home?

This hack makes me sick.

Jump off the cliff.

Let all taxes rise and cut discretionary spending. Then maybe the freeloader class can realize what happens when you spend like a drunken sailor. Let them feel the pain.

Elections have consequences.

when you see your enemy turn tail and start to run, do you:

A. offer a truce

B. go home

C. chase them down, kill them all, and push further into their territory unopposed

if you’re GOPe, your answer is always A or B.

if you’re anyone else, your answer is C

expect increased taxes, double down on govt spending, radically extravagant govt programs, massive irresponsibility when is comes to our military, radical cutting of defense, and the coup de grace on our defense... the removal of our last nuclear warheads.

No I disagree. Don't you see what the Dems plan?

They know we are headed for a financial disaster so they plan to blame the Republicans by saying they would not agree to a tax on the rich. If they can get away with blaming Bush for the last 4 years they will get away with blaming the Republicans for the financial crisis that is about to happen.

include a revamped tax code to make it cleaner and fairer, fewer loopholes and lower rates for all.

Boehner is proposing exactly what Romney proposed...LOWER RATES FOR ALL.

Increased revenues come from closing loopholes which is what conservatives have wanted for years (simplified code).

The media will try to dupe conservatives on this, but Boehner is saying what needs to be said.
