After Tuesday nights re-election victory for President Barack Obama, MSNBCs Chuck Todd predicted that one of the presidents agenda items one promise he never managed to fulfill in his first term would breeze into law.
Immigration reform, he said, will get 80 to 90 votes in the Senate. Since the election night results showed Republicans unable to attract Latino voters, he said, Republicans will run, not walk, in trying to support that now. On the Wednesday broadcast of MSNBCs The Daily Rundown, NBC White House correspondent Kristen Welker said Obamas victory speech in Chicago pointed to an immigration bargain.
The president, Welker, said, laid out some of the other things he wanted to accomplish during his second term that he wasnt able to accomplish during his first term. One of those things [was] immigration reform.
He of course got a lot of criticism from the Latino community for not bringing about immigration reform, not getting the DREAM Act passed. You heard him mention that last night. Latinos clearly played a big role in his re-election. So I think that is something well see him dedicate a fair amount of time to.

My prediction: Obama will toss latinos under the bus.
If he didn't honor promises made prior to his first term when he planned to run for re-election, why should he start honoring them now?
Obama might do it. He’ll need them to vote for him in his Third Term.
“If he didn’t honor promises made prior to his first term when he planned to run for re-election, why should he start honoring them now? “
He wants this! He was just waiting for ‘flexibility.’
Republicans would rush to reinforce the opposition?
Well, I guess it’s not for nothing that they’re called The Stupid Party.
I don’t see 80 or 90, but the key number is 60, to break a filibuster. I certainly CAN see 5 RINO Senators who’ll join with the Dems on this.
This will be part of the general attempt to read the 2012 loss as meaning “we were too conservative, we have to move even further to the center.” They’re already saying that. Yeah, we should go the Dole-McCain-Romney route, only more so.
great - legalize 20 million illegals, they will either compete for the limited jobs or take hand outs - great idea!!! really great for americans who are out of work too!!
Between Boehner and this nonsense, I’m wondering if the strategy is to let the libs have everything they want, and allow the country to just disintegrate under its own weight.
I just don’t get how anyone in the Republican party can believe that backing immigration reform will ingratiate them with the Latino set. They are dyed in the wool Democrats and will be for the next several decades at least.
who needs a license to drive?
