I plan to cancel cable tv, quit the health club, am putting off purchases that I had planned IF Romney had won.
Am happy to hear ideas...I have to say my spouse was literally in tears last night, thinking about what dangers we face (not just as a family but as a society and a nation). We prayed together, asking God to guide us. HE knew this was going to happen, and HE can use this for HIS glory.
We just want to be as wise as possible with the resources God has provided.
So we welcome your input.
How do you think God feels about that choice?

I certainly hope and pray that I am doing the right thing. I know that I cannot afford to lose any more money trying to keep a small business going in this putrid environment. I have been punished for doing the right thing all of my life and playing by the rules. One cannot exist being honest and forthright and I refuse to become what they are... so I quit.

You’re alive and you live in the USA, that is way more than billions of others have.
Would God expect me to live as a slave or die fighting for what is morally right. Would it be acceptable to God if I compromised my principals and surrendered to evil? Would that even be life? Or would it be a living death as in hell? (just to be completely truthful, I’m not Christian but I am a highly moral person who believes in individual freedom and responsibility)
Also I’m of the firm belief that it is better to give up than give in to evil. It is truly unfortunate that these are choices that we and our children may be forced to make within our lifetimes.
Here is how I did it...and I am looking for more ideas.
1. Downgraded my cable tv service. We don't watch a ton of TV, but I like the news channels and sometimes I like watching sports. We also took back one of our "DVR receiver" boxes since we don't watch much tv in the bedroom.
Approximate savings: $45 a month/$540 a year.
2. Cut down on my home phone service...went from an unlimited monthly plan to a limited monthly plan. Someday we may get rid of the land line altogether, but it is still nice to have if the cell phones are charging or otherwise being used.
Approximate savings: $10 a month/$120 a year.
3. Quit the health club...not everyone in the family uses it...some of us do, but they'll have to use the "video game" exercise route--the Wii Fit, or whatever or maybe go outside and walk.
Approximate savings: $72 a month/$864 a year!
4. Lawn service...our guy comes by every two weeks at a cost of $30 a week. We will now have him come by ONCE A MONTH...yes, the grass will get a little longer in the summer time. Too bad. We'll deal with it.
Approximate savings: $420 a year!
Every person/business/company that has been affected by these decsions is being told it is a direct result of the election yesterday!

I thank GOD for that but it does not excuse the treason perpetrated upon all real Americans... it does not change a single fact of how we got here. It will not solve a single problem or offer a single solution.

Limit holiday purchases as much as possible. Pack lunches instead of buying fast food. By soda by the 2-liter bottle and use washable water bottles. In general, buy in bulk whenever possible. Another little tip: don’t use a plain soap dish—make sure the soap is somehow elevated so the water drains away (hint: turn the dish upside down). It will last 3x longer.
How would I know what God expects? I do know that whenever anyone talks about suicide here on FR, they say that isn’t what God wants and the person will go to hell for it.
Are you really going to teach your children that you believe suicide is ok? How do you think they will feel if that’s what you or their mother did?
Life goes on, whether we like it or not.
Is dying for a cause suicide or a casualty of war? Sometimes death is the only alternative in war. If the enemy kills you then you are dead.
I just got off the phone with my pest control service...told them to stop spraying...the very nice Hispanic lady on the phone asked me why, and I told her the election is making us change our budget.
She sighed deeply and told me she just got off the phone with someone else who told her the same thing--and she said she completely understands and is in the same boat!!!
Folks, this may be something that is being done in greater numbers than we realize!

Different people gots different vents...
No spouse, no dependents, no house plants, no pets, no real estate.
A self-contained RV is the ultimate bug-out bag. Got that, too.
Also, lots of cash, gold, beans, bullets and bandaids.
Maintain a low profile, so your neighbors (if you're unlucky enough to have any) don't think they can come and forcibly take your stuff. Nonetheless, establish a defensible perimeter and a plan to deal with an attack.
Realize that the Republican party just committed suicide and is trying to take you with it.
Look for alternatives.
