The polling place was more crowded than usual and it was quiet, but you could feel the anticipation in the air.

Do you think Akin is going to squeak out a win? My folks live
at Lake Ozarks and they said everybody hates McCaskill.

Arrived at poll at 6:00 am in St. Louis City (Ward 7 pct 5 “Soulard”). Large pro-Obama crowd. 30 minute wait to vote. A few people in front of me in line were sent to a special desk to the side because their names were not in the book or their addresses didn’t match.
I went to vote this morning in my very conservative precinct in East Springfield. At 5:55am, I was roughly number 50 in a line of 75, with cars streaming into the parking lot. By the time I made it through the exterior doors at 6:03 am, I looked back and rough-counted about 150 people behind me.
Voter #7 in Foley Precinct in Lincoln County. Historically democRat county trending Republican the last few elections. Long line formed behind me as I was waiting. Parking lot of church full.
Lets vote the commie out and put an American back in the White House!!!!!
Hold your nose and vote for Akin... a vote for McCowskull or the libertarian is a vote for Harry Reid.

I believe he will, despite the negative ads that McCaskill has been blasting across Missouri’s airwaves.
We just need strong turnout in Springfield, southwest and other parts of rural Missouri to override Kansas City, Columbia and St. Louis.
Is turnout in your ward lighter than 2008?
At Wentzville, my polling place was more packed than I have ever seen it. At 10 minutes after the polls opened, when I arrived, the parking lot was utterly full. There were 7 lines inside based upon the first letter of your last name. My line was the shortest and I was #28. There were at least 300 people in there and it took me 32 minutes to complete my voting. It was great to see!
Got to the poll at 5:423 AM—had line waiting outside the door in Ellisville (St. Louis County). Was #92 to vote, there are 1700 registered voters in my polling place. So different from 2008. Then the Dems were giddy and we were silent and serious. This time everyone was networking and the Dems (except one) were quiet and sullen. You could tell the Dems by looking. Unpleasant and angry looking...waiting to vote their revenge. Romney will take MO...Akin is an unknown, which is probably why the Dems were there (to protect their precious “Claire”). Lots of business people here who want to get back to the business of America.
Voted this morning with my son at 7am. Raymore, Cass county just south of KC. This is a fairly Republican county and precinct.
We got there and I have never seen the parking lot as full and as overflowing as this morning. It filled up the church parking lot, overflowed down the street and across the road to a strip mall parking lot.
It didn’t take long to vote, pretty much in and out.

Just posted this on another thread. Voted early AM in St. Charles county (west of St. Louis). Lines were the longest I’ve ever seen at this polling location. In the quiet determination and public showing, it reminded me of Chick-fil-A day. Hope it’s a harbinger of things to come...
If Akin wins, it will be on Mitts coat tails.
Voted at about 630 am in Jefferson County. No lines but all the polling places were moving smoothly with those voting before work.
No ugliness here, but I am sure St. Louis City will have it’s typical “dead voters” and “staying open late” shenanigans.
Missouri is solidly Romney though.
Don't know about 2008 since I didn't live here then. Turnout was certainly greater today than in 2010.
I just got back from voting in Ozark, Christian County (south of Springfield). Longest lines I’ve seen at this polling place, but moving pretty fast.
Someone ahead of me spoiled their ballot by putting Xs in the little circles instead of filling them in. Whoever did it (probably someone who went to school in the pre-Scantron era) had already left, and the election judge said they could not count it at all. Unfortunately, it was a Romney voter.
Voted in Wright City, Warren County. 6AM over 100 in line, the county is pretty solid red.

I don't live in Missouri (am stuck in blue NJ), but sent both Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock (OH) some campaign contributions.
If they win, it will be a small ... "revenge" ... revenge for the milions of unborn children who have been slaughtered by the Left.
