Mitt Romney’s Mormon beliefs are featured prominently in a pro-Obama voter guide being circulated to African-American churchgoers in the all-important Hampton Roads area of battleground Virginia, the latest reminder that the Republican presidential nominee’s faith could be an under-the-radar issue for some voters.
Romney would be the country’s first Mormon president, and although America’s most prominent evangelical leaders have overcome their theological concerns to enthusiastically back Romney’s candidacy, some on the left continue to see his Mormon beliefs as a possible wedge issue.
The new brochure, produced by a coalition of black pastors in the Norfolk area, includes a side-by-side comparison of what it presents as the religious beliefs held by Romney and President Obama, who practices a more traditional form of Christianity.
The pastors behind the brochure, representing the Greater Hampton Roads Christian Leadership Conference, hope the comparison will motivate their parishioners to turn out and vote for Obama, even though many of them have expressed disappointment that America’s first black president decided to support same-sex marriage.
“You’ve got a president who may be what we call a back-slidden Christian at worst, but he is one who has accepted Christ as Lord and savior,” said the Rev. Lin Hill, associate minister

I believe Mormonism is a cult, but it is impossible to know how much of Mormon theology Mitt actually believes. I have no reason to think Mitt will make any governmental decisions that favor Mormonism.
On the other hand, there is no doubt in my mind that Obama is a Muslim. No Christian has ever misspoken about his “Muslim faith”, nor made so many admiring statements about anything associated with Islam like Obama has.
I'm not so sure his is a devout Mormon, other than from abstaining from certain behaviors. He may or may not believe everything Mormonism teaches since many Mormons are unaware of some of the weird stuff. This statement applies to even Mormons in positions of great authority.
I know three former Mormon Bishops who left the church once they learned that is was all based on lies. For most Mormons, the church is hardly more than a social organization.
Very few Mormon missionaries ever convert someone and they mostly look at a mission as a duty to their family and look for ways to do the least amount of work possible.
Obama practices a more traditional form of Christianity? You mean the one where the preacher rails against the US of KKK and calls for God to DAMN America? Does this for 20 years without batting an eye?
Or you mean the one where you call yourself a Christian and don't even go to church on Easter and Christmas every year, let alone any other Sundays.

Mitt may make choices that favor generic religious freedom, which would cover Mormons and many others in one swell foop.

I will vote “Romney” because I’m voting AGAINST Obama...but that is as far as it goes. I am NOT voting for Romney. Romney is the only alternative to Obama at this point. Obama is just so terrible a POTUS that he had to be replaced...even a less than desirable Romney is an improvement.

what particular Christian denomination do you belong to?
the mormons i know worship Jesus of Nazareth, born in Bethleham, who died on the cross to atone for mankind’s sins. just because mormons have different beliefs about the nature of the Trinity doesn’t mean that they don’t worship the same Jesus Christ that other Christians worship. it is their perception of the Trinity that is different. that doesn’t mean that they aren’t worshipping the same Christ as the rest of Christianity.
As a man, i am a father to my children, but a husband to my wife. in both instances i am still the same man, but am perceived by my respective family members by the different roles that i hold for each of them.
if i were a doctor, my patients would perceive me as their doctor. that wouldn’t make me less a a father or a husband.

when color blind people look at green, red or blue they do not see the same as those who are not color blind, BUT that doesn’t mean that they aren’t looking at the same color. it’s the perception that is different, not the reality.

A correct understanding of the “Trinity” is CENTRAL to what is REAL Christianity. A correct understanding of the Trinity correctly defines who the Lord Jesus Christ is. Mormon do not correctly understand is Jesus Christ is...they don’t understand Jesus Christ....they don KNOW Jesus Christ. Their “Christ” is the warped delusion of a flim flam artist called Joseph Smith....followed by other as bad or worse than Smith...starting with Brigham Young.

You obviously are not acting on knowledge of scripture and sound theology...you are acting on emotion and having known a few Mormons. I have met really good people from ALL diferent religions...to include Muslims. They are all, like Mormons, dead wrong. Being “good” is NOT proof of anything, nor does it make one right with God. One CANNOT earn “salvation”....it is a gift of God contingent upon correct belief and faith in the REAL Lord Jesus Christ....not any other as the Mormon’s belive in.
Satan is all for “good” as long as it isn’t connnected to a correct understanding of and relationship with the REAL Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible.
Because the high percentage is only a percenatge of THOSE WHO VOTE. The effort therefore would be to get more voters.
