With the Presidential election one week away, its worth reviewing how Obamacare will impact the residents of key swing states. In Nevada, as elsewhere, Obamacare will drive up the cost of private health coverage, especially for those who buy insurance on their own. One non-partisan analysis found that by 2014, individual premiums in Nevada will increase by an average of 11 to 30 percent.

That’s an interesting series of articles on the cost of Obamacare for those who pay their own bills.
I’ve been hearing this ever since Obamacare was enacted so I was very surprised when our insurance actually went down 10% starting next month. We’ve been buying our own health insurance since 1999, either through our business or on our own and this is the 1st time it’s ever gone down. It’s always gone up anywhere from 8-25%. Our agent told us it’s because the Insurance companies are trying to keep their customers and keep them from going to the government plan. I guess we’ll see what happens in the coming year.
Well mine has gone up $60 a mnth since they started talking Obamacare and I have no clue how much hubby’s has gone up but I would guesstimate that we are out an extra almost $2 k a year.
