Mafia told the Mayor to keep the armed competition out!
It could interfere with their ability to skim 20% off of all of the relief effort.

If he cannot personally micromanage it, Bloomberg is against it. He knows he cannot order the Guard around and tell them what to do, and the very thought of it drives him crazy.

The Army and Air National Guard are under the command of a state’s Governor or the President of the United States, never the mayor of a city or town. How can Bloomberg refuse them deployment in Brooklyn?

I was about to write.a post calling for New Yorkers to recall this complete goddamned idiot but on second thought I thin they sort of deserve him. He’s a pretty fair representative of the typical New York City resident.

Bloomie should disarm his police force if he's so against guns. In the meantime, the national guard needs to stand down and let New York fend for itself minus state, federal, and non-union help. Eff ‘em.

Hell, even his own team thinks he’s a dumb ass.
His plan to hole the marathon anyway was about as brain dead as it gets.

Is this the same mayor that when a disgruntled ex employee shot his former boss and the nypd shot all bystanders except for the suspect,
He said they shot everyone because they had to?
Bloomberg made a good call. Why bother protecting that city.
Sending the national guard to NYC is a waste of good services. The national guard deserves better.

Meanwhile Penn Station has soldiers with machine guns.I've seen the National Guard in subway stations in Manhattan and the object they were carrying looked surprisingly like an M-16.I guess the folks in Brooklyn are more easily spooked.

It would seem to me that is the Governor’s call, as the Chief Executive of the state.
That’s the problem, Bloomberg doesn’t recognize his proper role as a public servant.
He’d prefer to be the little dick-tater that he thinks he is.
