Probably trying to do to RUSH; what Burt Lancaster did to Walter Winchell in 1957..
His performance as J.J. Hunsecker in Sweet Smell of Success (1957) is ranked
#61 on Premiere Magazine's 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time.
did nothing for Walter Winchell; but casted him in a very bad light..bad publicity...

Well we know whatever they do it won’t be complimentary or watchable.

I also remember when I first heard Rush. My dad had just bought an old Ford with an AM-only radio, and the only station in our small town had satellite-fed talk.

It was the summer of ‘92, and the Reagan/Bush years were coming to a halt. I was born in ‘79, and had only ever known GOP presidents. I never thought the governor of Arkansas had a chance!

My dad had been a poll watcher, and my grandparents lived next door to a polling place. Elections had always fascinated me. I was a news junkie, but had started waking up to their bias.

When I heard his show, I ate it up. No guests, and lots of crazy skits! The ‘90s were a heck of a lot easier to bear because of him. There was no Hannity, Beck, Fox News, FR, et cetera back then, so he was a godsend.

I had forgotten about the Henry Winkler show until someone posted about it. Back then, Rush was considered a fad that would soon pass!

John Cusack as Rush?

No. Just no. Just for starters, he would die trying to make weight for the part

And his several failed marriages, I am sure.

Of course it would be a hit piece. I was attempting to be cute with using the “if a tree falls....does it make a sound” and adding my own twist...I failed.

This reminds me of Oliver Stone’s movie on George W.

I think the title was “W”...

No, I never watched it and I have no intention to watch it in the future.

Michael Medved reviewed “W”...Medved stated that the film portrayed George W. as very pathetic person...
