The White House was talking about it, Senators were talking about it etc, parents of the dead were talking about it.
Hard to see how that isn’t enough to at least write a basic article.
At what point do we start to call Zero exactly what he is : “ THe STAND DOWN PRESIDENT” ??
“Everybody’s talking about it” isn’t much of a news peg, especially when there’s much bigger stuff out there.
And there is.
Think about it: the attack was Sept. 11. FOX didn’t run the “stand down” story till Oct. 26. From the sound of it, that was likely a coordinated leak from fed-up military/intelligence sources. There is more.
You don’t offer gruel when meat is available. MSM isn’t going to run with rumors or warmed-over hearsay. And I don’t want them to.
We live in an instantaneous world now, but some things take time. Nobody paid attention to Woodward and Bernstein in 1972, not for months, not till well after that election. It was March ‘73 before McCord spilled his story and Watergate blew wide open, and it took another year and a half for it to play out.
Ordinarily, this story would build, piece by piece, over weeks and months. But there is an election next week, which makes us all want to expedite it. We want, and need, it NOW.
