Three Dirty Words: Tolerance, Diversity, and Welcoming
CNS News ^ | October 28, 2012 | Rev. Michael P. Orsi

There are three dirty words that are being used to subvert traditional morality in Western society: tolerance, diversity and welcoming.

These words are liberally used (no pun intended) in education, by the media, and even by our Churches. In themselves, they seem quite innocuous. To the untrained ear they sound like commendable practices geared toward helping folks who are “different” get along.

The fact of the matter is that these words are being used to lull us into an amoral complacency. They are being used as the vanguard for conditioning unsuspecting minds in the regnant Philosophy of Relativism.

Traditional morality and ethics depends on religion, custom, tradition and a sense of revulsion. Obviously, the three dirty words allow for no such standards or restrictions.

Let’s examine these words and what they imply:

Tolerance: This word implies that, at worst, there is no measurable standard for right or wrong, or at best that we have no right or obligation to correct those in error.

Tolerance does not connote the virtue “patience,” which must be exercised in leading a person to the truth or, for example, a child to good behavior. Instead, it forces people to accept that which they may know to be wrong, to be quite okay for someone else. A simple example would be acceptance of the oxymoron “same sex marriage.” This emphasis on “tolerance” has enabled social elites to construct a new social reality which many either fear to question or, more likely, have lost the ability to do so.

Viewed in this light, “tolerance” is not virtuous. It blinds people to time-tested truth, cows people to silence or acceptance of that which they know is wrong. It is, ultimately, a politically correct way to effectively subvert freedom of speech.

Diversity: This is the mantra of those who desire no unifying truth. The diversity crowd has taken over the academy.

There was a time when unity was celebrated. It stemmed from a belief in one God who revealed certain truths by which human beings were called to live. The most obvious expression of this was expressed in The Ten Commandments. For Americans, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were designed for “E Pluribus Unum” (one from many). It has always been known that in unity there is strength. It was the commonly held ethical and political beliefs found in these documents that made America a great nation.

Diversity, on the other hand, has no other purpose than to promote divisiveness, which weakens any society, organization, or a Church.

Just look at the damage diversity has caused in the Anglican/Episcopal Church. A lack of shared beliefs in traditional marriage, in the ordination of female priests and bishops, and dubious theological positions regarding even the Resurrection has reduced the Church’s membership. It has also caused schism and even heresy which Christians have always deemed to be evil since these rend the unity of the Body of Christ. No one can argue that Christianity has not become weakened since the divisions caused by Protestant Reformation.

Diversity usually begins in education with innocuous events like sponsoring a banquet with foods from different ethnic groups or instructing young people about various cultures. The indoctrination process moves from appreciating the lasagna, egg rolls, knishes and sushi, of diverse cultures to the surreptitious promotion of alternate life-styles which is code for “each to his own taste” in behavior.

The next step is to promote “pride” in any group one chooses to belong to, even if their preference contradicts traditional ethics, morality and good taste. While one’s taste in food is neutral in itself, barring, of course, cannibalism, (for now, anyway) how one behaves has grave social consequences. LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) pride is a prime example. Diversity, not right or wrong, is the new standard that is celebrated as a virtue. The chaos that ensues from diversity is destructive to good order in society.

Welcoming: This is a code word for “anything goes here.” It is now commonly used to indicate that whoever you are, whatever you believe, and whatever you do will not be challenged here.

It has, for the most part, neutered any defining belief that would make anyone feel uncomfortable. Many Churches have made welcoming their central dogma since traditional doctrine may be offensive to some. They, therefore, have subordinated or eliminated the tenets of their creed and biblical morality in favor of a feel good “inclusive” environment.

In many Churches, schools and social service organizations the most that can be expected is a Hallmark card type of sermon, mission statement or program. This being the case, no one learns, no one changes and no one can grow in truth. We simply have those in charge dumbing down delinquency, if not downright encouraging it, and sacrificing revealed and time tested truth for some non-confrontational message.

This is a gross failure in leadership. It eventually leads to the obfuscation of the purpose for which the organization was founded. It causes the deterioration of the group either through apathy or allows diseased ideas to ferment and morph the institution into something it was never meant to be.

“Welcoming” has the distinct connotation that you are just fine just as you are. It simply “affirms” (another buzz word) your inadequacy, perversity, sinfulness and ignorance.

This is an awful indictment of organizations that claim to exist for the betterment of persons and society in general. The question that such organizations need to ask themselves is, “If people are fine the way they are, why do we need to exist?”

Most people belong to groups to help them improve, change and be part of something greater than themselves. “Welcoming” shuns all of this since it encourages people to wallow in their smallness, to remain truculent when in error, and for those involved with religion to deny the need for redemption.

Clarity of vision, purpose and belief is necessary for any organization to function and help people to grow. The three dirty words allow for none of this. As a matter of fact, the reverse is true since none of these shibboleths apply to those who want to maintain traditional standards of morality or orthodox doctrine. The high priests of relativism are only too quick to identify these people as reactionary, bigoted and illiterate. For these folks, there is no tolerance, no appreciation for diversity and certainly no welcoming for those who disagree with them.

The three dirty words have been successfully employed by the left to restructure society. They have been deployed throughout the nation’s educational system and, unfortunately, even seemingly orthodox religious groups have bought into these destructive euphemisms for relativism, anti-dogmatism, anti-morality and in the end an anti-human agenda.

The role of the good society, which is governed by the state, should lift humans up to a higher level of existence by helping to free people from their inordinate passions - not celebrate them. Aristotle said, “Man’s highest goal is contemplation of the One, true, good and beautiful.

By indoctrinating our citizenry with three dirty words none of these aspirations are possible. These three dirty words induce human beings simply to mutual masturbation – a self-centered, unproductive and demeaning action.

Words have power. Beware how you use them and, even more, be aware of their power to seduce!

Tolerance: Set no limits on behavior. Allow no morality to influence your judgment.

Diversity: Divided we stand.

Welcoming: Embrace those things you despise.

There we have it. I always suspected that it was my fault.

Hey, Rev. Orsi!

Yo! Back in the ‘90s when us Birchers were shouting the evils of ‘diversity’ from the rooftops, white bread fools like you were calling us all kinds of names.

Can I prove that? YESSIIRRREEE I can. I can even get flamed right here right now.

On about 2000, Dr. William Pierce (now I can just hear those knees a jerking) wrote a prescient paper called “Diversity is Our Strength.” He dissected and eviscerated that ‘diversity’ nonsense completely.

Response from the ‘intelligent’ pulpit?

RACIST, RACIST, RACIST.

My, my, my, Good Rev. Orsi! What has changed?

Obama has indeed opened a lot of eyes. But for some of us, its too little, WAAAYYYYY too late.

Now, after all the derision and insults, all I hear: Who Knew? Ohh, Just Who Knew??

Hey Orsi, its your freakin bed bro, you made it, now you’re sittin in it.

Everything is tolerated except intolerance of what the Left believes.

Welcoming...like the Romans welcomed the Vandals?

These people are BULLIES!!!

The “gay community” is starting to become a real pain in the @$$!

The GLBTs are showing their TRUE rainbow colors as the intolerant, hateful, divided, religious & scientific bigots that they are, & many people are starting to wake up.

Homos act like little brats when they don’t get their way. They throw tamper tantrums, & start using violence against those who disagree with them. They are truly bullies in nature.

Go back in your closets GLBTs! Nobody likes you!!

This is a good article. The money quote is the following:

Clarity of vision, purpose and belief is necessary for any organization to function and help people to grow. The three dirty words allow for none of this. As a matter of fact, the reverse is true since none of these shibboleths apply to those who want to maintain traditional standards of morality or orthodox doctrine. These words ONLY apply to liberals and groups under their tent, not conservative Christians.

What was done to that billboard was the best advertising MinnesotaForMarriage could get. It shows the vileness they are up against, and what people will be subjected to if homo-”marriage” is ever imposed.

Christianity has been devistated by Muslim hords for 1500 years. Rich thousand year old Christian cultures across N. Africa through to Asia were obliterated.

The Muslim on Christian violence in the world is nothing new.
