Obama cancels Tuesday rally in Colo. Springs to ‘monitor Hurricane Sandy’

President Barack Obama has cancelled his rally that was scheduled for Tuesday morning in Colorado Springs to monitor Hurricane Sandy, according to a White House press release.

Obama will return to Washington to continue to monitor the hurricane following a campaign event in Ohio on Monday. A campaign event that was scheduled in Northern Virginia on Monday was also cancelled because of the storm.

According to a statement made by the White House Saturday night, “The President is being regularly updated on the storm and ongoing preparations, and he has directed his team to continue to bring all available resources to bear as state and local partners continue to prepare for the storm.”

The press release said that FEMA has deployed teams and has pre-staged resources to potentially affected areas of the storm.

The rally that was scheduled in Colorado Springs’ Red Rock Canyon Open Space park on Tuesday was meant to focus on issues such as the economy and early voting, according to a campaign spokesperson.

So he can go to Nevada and monitor Benghazi but he can not monitor a hurricane in CO? What a stupid thing to say to American people.......We see the hypocrisy

I guess it really doesn’t matter which place it is, Obama could not match the R & R rally.

He was in Denver the very next day, and the local media briefly reported that there were many more attendees for Obama then Romney. They eventually changed that to it “seemed” there were many more attendees.

Not so sure. By doing this he avoids Bush’s mistake during Katrina and helps with his image in Virginia. He doesn’t need CO if he can get VA.

You can almost hear a collective sigh of relief on all of the Sunday shows this morning as the sycophantic press has been given this storm to talk about instead of Libya.

Hold on - why is this hurricane even daring to come ashore? Weren’t the oceans supposed to recede? Did Sandy not get the email? Why doesn’t the messianic president just raise his hand and instruct the storm to cease?

What a joke this guy is.

Will be interesting to see how he handles it.

Maybe he’s really going to DC to launch his military October surprise.

Is this the same Obama that did NOT cancel a fund raiser in Las Vegas to deal with Benghazi?

Oh well, I guess he’ll get more votes from the east coast than all of the military combined. And that’s what it’s all about. That’s what it’s always about - votes.

Reminds me of some of the lyrics in the song, “Curious GWB.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JX-Bx0BETQ

Hurricane Katrina was a natural disaster
Some critics say I shoulda acted faster
But let me ask ya this,..why ain’t them people have
boats?
Or at least some floaty things so they could all
float?

People say I’s in Crawford hidin’ in my cove
But that’s just not true, ask Karl Rove
I was monitoring the storm from right there on the
ranch
While simultaneously clearing out a dangerous branch

Yeah, there you go, now who’s to blame?
Fool me once shame on you
Fool me twice…that’s a…shame, uh…
On…uh…you know…I won’t get fooled again
Aw you know what I mean!

So, he’ll be re-introduced to the Situation Room, huh?

I think there is something else brewing out there besides Sandy and it’s going to be big too!

He is hunkered down with Axelrod trying to keep it together.

Obama is showing his true colors. He thinks the federal government solves all problems for all people.

Sandy is currently tracking to sit right over my area early Wednesday. If the predicted track holds true, there will be flooding here. There will probably be power outages, but we get those from thunderstorms in the summer and ice storms in the winter.

I don't expect the federal government to do anything. I have minor expectations from state and local governments. The township was cleaning storm drains yesterday (Saturday - working OT) That was a probably good idea, but I was planning to clear the storm drain at the edge of my property on Monday for free. There's not much more that can be done, other than securing our own property - which I did yesterday.

I certainly do not care if Obama is monitoring the storm. He's not going to clean the storm drains of leaves. He's not going secure my deck furniture. He's not going to clear fallen trees on my property after the storm. I don't expect help from the tax dollars of people who live in New Orleans or some other part of the county. Just like I don't expect my tax dollars to help New Orleans. Conversely, I am willing to give to charities and relief efforts when people are in true need. Just don't wash my tax dollars through a huge government bureaucracy in DC.

He's not going back to DC to play golf or to monitor the storm. He's going back for damage control.

He's in serious doo-doo....there's no doubt chaos is rampant throughout the administration. Demoralized campaign staff, restless military officers, government agencies and departments at each other's throats, Dem candidates scared stiff nationwide, the Clinton tag team ominously circling..... shall I continue?

Axeljarrett certainly told him in no uncertain terms to get back into the Oval Orifice, to take charge, to show he's still the president, to quell any incipient mutinies, to figure out who to blame for what, etc., etc.

The developing hurricane has provided him with convenient cover to scurry home. As though he could part the sea and stem the storm....but that's the impression he wants to give.

In reality, FEMA will handle Sandy....and the Coward-in-Chief will be huddled with his advisors on how to best handle the snake pit of lies, deceit and treason his administration is enmeshed in.

Time is now not on his side.....this return to the White House is a last hurrah to pull his melting irons out of the fire.

Leni
