We now know it was not initially an attack, but an attempted kidnapping of Ambassador Stevens to use him as a pawn to get their beloved Blind Sheik back.
What is most shocking, however, is that a source within the White House states that it was arranged as an October surprise by Barack Obama. Obama, in order to make the release of the Blind Sheik more palatable to the American people, and to boost his sagging approval ratings, arranged with the Muslim Brotherhood to kidnap Ambassador Stevens. Then, days before the election, acting the part of the hero, planned to release the Blind Sheik in exchange for Ambassador Stevens.
The plan was for security to be minimal at the consulate, protected by only Libyan security guards who would melt away into the night at the appointed time.

How do we ‘now know’ that this was a kidnapping attempt?
Not to defend O who is capable of anything, but this seems a bit of a stretch. If there is any real proof of a kidnap plot I haven’t seen it.
Shooting up the place with unsourced crap to incite with our pants around our ankles. Ridiculous to entertain junk when we have the goods.
This undercuts us badly.
If true, it just goes to prove that Obama doesn’t understand Americans. There would still be outrage that the blind shiek was released.
Negotiating with terrorists would be seen as weakness - not a hero. This would decrease his poll numbers and show that his supposed foreign policy success was just a lie.
Well to be fair we have just exactly as much evidence to support this hypothesis as Harry Reid, Majority Leader of the United States Senate, had when he accused the Republican Party's candidate for President of paying zero income taxes for decades.
And Reid got MSM front pages and headlines for days after he unburdened himself of his theory.

This seems a bit farfetched, stupid and treasonous even for Obama, so until something approaching reral proof comes to our attention, I don’t believe it. However, if it is true, it would be treason beyond any shadow of a doubt.

I’m more inclined to believe the gun-running theory...either way, I just can’t believe it will stay hidden for ever.
This kidnapping speculation has been floating out there for days. There is NO EVIDENCE for this whatsoever.
And as Rush said Friday we don’t need any of these theories. The facts we know are bad enough!

This does not fit the timeline given on the attack. Stevens was hold up in that safe room, attackers set fire to it, the two guards seem to have escaped leaving Stevens behind.
I thought it was long after that when Ty Woods made his brave attempt to rescue the Ambassador.
Now, it very well could have been a Kidnapping attempt, it just seems the stories are out of order. Am I wrong?
Anyway, I can see where that "STAND DOWN" order would have been given, if this was only to be a kidnapping attempt.
Obama knowing that, said Stand Down, as he KNEW it was to be only a kidnapping. The best laid plans of mice and men.....Well, Obama you are in DEEP DEEP doodoo.
