(New) AC-130U Gunship was On-Scene in Benghazi, Obama Admin Refused to Let It Fire
PJ Tatler ^ | 10-26-2012 | Bob Owen

If you don’t get torches-and-pitchforks irate about this, you are not an American:

The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

What I want is to see the words in writing. I want to read that there was in fact a gunship a short distance away but it was not given permission to fire. That’s all I am asking for.

I do not believe that the security officer would have had the laser on his target if they knew that the AC-130 WAS NOT in the area.
That security officer would not have been sitting there for over a hour to wait for the AC-130 to show up while taking heat from the attacks outside.
The fact that he had a laser focused on his target most likely proves that air support was in the area but denied.

There is a video on Youtube of a C-130 taking off from a carrier deck. Can’t access it from work, but it is way cool.

Thanks. I will have to admit that I got that angle from a piece that Ollie North wrote.

Then and Now (North on Benghazi)

"A White House spokesman now claims that the O-Team couldn't commit military force without "diplomatic clearance" from the Libyan government. Good thing that provision of international law doesn't apply in Pakistan or Yemen."

A good read. Ollie North is right on the same page that we are here.

Mac daddy started out with a lie and each day the lie gets bigger and bigger.

I’ve lost track to the number of lies because they were coming so fast.

All I know that anyone lives in, working in or visiting the mid-east and trouble starts you are own your own as you will get no help from the mac daddy administration, NONE.

First it was blamed on this stupid little film, then it was the security department to blame, then it was the state department to blame and now it’s the CIA to blame. It sounds like either mac daddy is so stupid he has no idea what is going on around him or could care less about those who were about to be murdered because if he hid something it might make him look bad before his re-election.

Well guess what you stupid liar the shi* is so deep now and the trouble you’re in is your own stupid fault and believe me I could care less.

I heard FNC mention 2 drones over Benghazi during this mess.

I can only assume that Hellfires were slung under the wings of at least one of them.

Hmm. When the article says that the aircraft were deployed to Libya in March, is that saying that they made runs from Italy to Libya to do airstrikes, or that they were based in Libya and were there ready to be used when they were needed in Benghazi? When I read it I thought the article was saying that the aircraft were kept in Libya. Am I misunderstanding that?

They can even employ mid-air steerable munitions, ala copperheads etc, that will hit the laser dot. Totally precise.

" DOES NOOOOOOT SAY AN AC-130 WAS OVERHEAD. "

No, directly speaking, it does not state or say that a AC-130 was overhead.

However ?

The security officer must have been in contact with someone, or some air support or at least had initial contact but was denied air support or the radio or communications was cut off.

He was not there just pointing his laser to just show off how cool his laser looked.

If he was pointing a laser on a target most likely he knew that there was some type of air support from above but was denied.

Proof ?

Proof that he had a target acquired, target acquisition, and was asking for and waiting for minute by minute support.
That air support was denied.

I have read that our aircraft were 485 miles away. That is less than an hour for fighters. This whole ordeal from the first attack took something like 11 hours.

Weapons release for that signal can be from predator, hunter, warthog, apache, and many, many others. He prolly lased, believing that servicing the target would come from Predator overhead, with later follow-up from AC-130 or others not yet on-scene.

In the world of politics and government people die for reasons that are not revealed to the public - not just to watch them die. Obama had a reason for stopping help to the ambassador.
Maybe the ambassador knew too much that could hurt Obama so he called his Muzzie buddies and had them take care of the problem.

I know, I know. I KNOW!

I'm just trying to stay within arm's reach of what has been reported. Don't want anyone selling me any tin foil hats. ;-)

(Aren't the SEALs trained to stand in one spot for hours holding a laser while taking fire without knowing whether anyone is there to strike the target? /s)

Increasingly it looks like the regime has to choose between 2 explanations:

1. We are soul-less bastards who didn’t care that 22 people in our complex were going to be gunned down by Islamists.

2. We knew the attack was just a harmless theatrical production so we didn’t need any real protection coming in and screwing up the charade.

3. Both of the above.

Who would keep this AC in Libya? It has a big logistics tail and is expensive.. Dopey isn't even that stupid.
