Good morning. High tide and wind this morning has already caused flooding on Chincoteague.......

I hope you stocked up on chocolate too! Thanks for checking in, dear fatima!

For coffee fanatics--periodically top off a big thermos with fresh hot coffee for the long haul. The storm will be around for quite a while. Hot coffee is comforting, just like mac & cheese.

All the best to you and your family! {{{hugs}}}

It’s been raining for about 24 hours now

Another 48 hours of rain mixed with gusty winds will guarantee trees coming down--and power lines too.

No real surprise there. I'm quite certain you have adequately prepared for this storm. You're a pro!

Agree, plus the leaves are all over the place, some of the storm drains are covered with leaves. I really do expect a mess around here.

Here's a link to a pretty good real-time view of the hurricane and its projected path. As mentioned, it looks like it will be a tropical storm by the time it reaches mid-PA (approx. 50 mph). (The link says "Chris" but that's because Hurricane Chris was the first storm it tracked I think.)

http://www.weather.com/weather/hurricanecentral/tracker/2012/chris

Looks like Sandy will have this "Nor'easter" effect because the winds, going counterclockwise, will pick up colder air from the northeast and pull it down on the west side of the storm (PA) making it a cold and wet "tropical" storm. Looks like PA also at the same time gets hit with this other northwest cold front storm. Not sure of the exact effects of this convergence but it seems like it would be more cold and snow than flooding. Not sure what the wind effect would be.

Getting worried. They have the eye passing straight overhead us here in Delco.

We’re in Chesapeake VA just to the west of the red arrow in the graphic. However, it appears the path has changed and this thing is slowly making its way around us, projected to make landfall further north around New Jersey. I’m grateful to God for that and pray for protection on those where it does make landfall

The flooding in Delaware County is going to be epic. I’m glad to be 100’ up on a hill that’s solid rock, but I’m concerned about wind and hail.

Depending on your thrill tolerance, should be an interesting couple of days ahead! Please check in when you can.

Hopefully, everyone in Sandy's path has already checked their prescription and OTC med supplies by now. If you have less than a week's worth of any meds--order refills pronto!

Looks like normally it would move east out to sea, but apparently there’s a high pressure system to the northeast that is acting like a “block” to instead push this thing to the west and into New England.

No pro here - but am prepared.

A photographer friend was out taking pictues on Chinco this morning - doesn't look like I'll drinking in my favorite watering hole this week - the parking lot is flooded, which mean so is the bar area...........
