France 24 TV: Cairo reporter 'savagely attacked'
AP ^ | October 20, 2012 | JAMEY KEATEN

Posted on 10/20/2012 9:57:50 AM PDT by ConservativeStatement

PARIS (AP) — A correspondent for France 24 TV was "savagely attacked" near Cairo's Tahrir Square after being seized by a crowd, the network said Saturday. It was the latest case of violence against women at the epicenter of Egypt's restive protests.

The news channel said in a statement that Sonia Dridi was attacked around 10:30 p.m. Friday after a live broadcast on a protest at the square and was later rescued by a colleague and other witnesses. France 24 did not give further details about the attack, but it said its employees were safe and sound, though "extremely shocked," and that it will file suit against unspecified assailants.

Why do these news agencies send women to cover these 7th Century throw-backs? It is very irresponsible.

Shocked? Where have they been? This is a daily occurrence over there.

After Lara Logan was attacked, why do they continue to put women in the midst of these savages? I guess it just shows their lack of intelligence or maybe they just don’t care.

ARAB SPRINGTIME FOR EGYPT
Tune: "Springtime for Hitler"

Terrorists were having trouble
What a sad, sad error
Needed an enabler
To restore their reign of terror

Where oh where was he?
Where could that man be?
We looked around
And then we found
Obama wants us free

It's Arab . . .
Springtime for Egypt and Libya
The Brotherhood is happy and gay
We did our big Benghazi job
We're glad, glad as a Nazi mob

Springtime for Egypt and Libya
Winter for Christians and Jews
Springtime for Egypt and Libya
Come on, Muslims, get over your blues . . .

Mobs are now a Cairo factor
Copts will need a chiropractor . . .

Don't be stupid, don't you be odd
Come and join the Muslim jihad . . .

It's Arab . . .
Springtime for Egypt and Libya
Burkas will work as a rule
Bombs blowing up a crowd again
Jihad is proud and loud again

Springtime for Egypt and Libya
Springing up riots galore
Springtime for Egypt and Libya
Means that soon we'll be blowin'
We've got to be blowin'
You know we'll be blowing up more!

One of those personal experiences but one day in a restaurant two liberal women seated near me, talking, days after the Egypt uprising. One said “The only way America will be better is when we get rid of the old mindset and have the young minds run the nation, like what happened in Egypt.” Our awful way of life.

The West continues to send women to their death & rape in situations like this because the West believes in the theroy of non-discrmination & equality more than they do reality. To the modern West all cultures & all people are the same. Simple as that.

During a Miami stop on Oct. 11, President Barack Obama said: “And today, Al Queda is on the run and Osama bin Laden is dead.”

As usual, the President is lying to us, to put a shine on his miserable failures of foreign policy, especially in the middle east.

On Sept. 11, the day Ambassador Stevens (who WAS an acknowledged expert and leading strategist in middle eastern politics, especially in Libya) and three other Americans were slaughtered - signed a three-page cable, labeled “sensitive,” in which he noted “growing problems with security” in Benghazi and “growing frustration” on the part of local residents with Libyan police and security forces. These forces the ambassador characterized earlier, among numerous pleas for added security, as “too weak to keep the country secure. Islamic extremism appears to be on the rise in eastern Libya, and the Al-Qaeda flag has been spotted several times flying over government buildings and training facilities ...”

Rest in Peace, Mr. Ambassador.

I’ve got a great idea. France, why don’t you just allow more of these people to immigrate. I’m sure that will fix things.

Besides, just think of how many one to three year old cars will be taken off the streets for you.

It’s a real win/win don’t you think?

Which is why I haven’t favored picking women as our Secretary of State. Until this old world changes, we need a man in the position that other nations will respect, even if they don’t agree with him. They may not really respect them, but they are much more likely to fear them, and what stands behind them. And that is important.

Hillary Clinton doesn’t believe in threats unless it’s hiring someone to shut up women her husband has raped or abused.

It’s like in “Gone With The Wind”, when Scarlett drives a buggy into the old shantytown all by herself! Those of us who have seen this film know what happened next! If her friend, an old servant who once lived at her home, hadn’t been nearby working, the two thugs who stopped her buggy would’ve probably raped and killed her! If he big Sam)hadn’t knocked these animals into next year, she would’ve been in grave danger! But “Miss Scarlett” was all too brash, and didn’t see it!

Good heavens, what did this news crew with this young lady think would happen? People would line the streets, smile and wave? If 4 grown men in a consulate in Libya couldn’t survive in an attack by a crowd, how on earth could this young lady and a small group of reporters survive an attack by a crowd? Haven’t they heard about a young lady named Lara Logan? Good grief! They have more bravado than common sense!

So you would like to file charges for fornication by force, Miss? Your confession is noted, and to prove the alleged force, you will need four Muslim male witnesses. Please bring them to the fact-finding hearing. Please note that infidels may not testify in a Shariah court. If you accept Islam to testify, your testimony as a female will count one-half that of a Muslim male.

Hi - two ideas:
1. Why does Sec State need to go flying all over the world? We have ambassadors, other diplomats, and the UN. Why that one individual needs to run ragged visiting every corner of the planet I don’t understand and don’t like. Let’s start having them come to visit the SecState.
2. If travel can be controlled, I’m going to float a name for SecState which hasn’t been heard. Someone who is a plain talker, understands the world, is America First, and has as more gravitas than all the current administration combined. If some country wants special treatment from us, let them come round and meet with Don Rumsfeld.

Disagree. Rummy has an impressive resume’, but his experience is different (and he’s enjoying retirement). I would rather have John Bolton, former Amb. to the UN as the SoS. He knows what’s going on and also knows how the UN operates. He is a no nonsense-type of person who cuts through the BS.

I only hope that Romney will significantly reduce the US tax dollars that are probably funding about 1/3 of the UN.

I was in Egypt at the beginning of October. There were very few Americans their. We did see some Germans, French and Japanese. If this depresses the French tourists it is going to make a bad situation even worse. Very bad for the regular Egyptians. Egypt is going to have a tough time. They cannot feed themselves and they currency reserves are low. They are starting to have fuel shortages. I do not understand how the country is going to survive.
