Look, no human is perfect, but Dinesh wasn’t some average Joe Shmoe off the streets

He is or now was a prominent Christian conservative in the US and was probably the most well-known intellectual leaders defending Christianity and objective morality.

You might want to do a YouTube search on him.

His record goes beyond just the Obama 2016 video.

D'Souza has no one to blame but himself. People need to stop making excuses or shifting the blame. That's what liberals do.

That said, I don't really have a personal problem with someone being engaged while separated from someone with whom the relationship - except on paper - has clearly ended. (Assuming, of course, he planned on tying the knot after getting officially divorced from wife #1).

Assuming this claim is even true.

Would an innocent person resign?

What kind of nitwit gets engaged to one woman while still being married to another?

He has said he and his wife were separated for two years prior. Not to make excuses, and more details could come out, but right now I don't see the issue - "engaged" is not a legal status or even a religious status.

My mother married my father the day after her divorce became final. Obviously they were "engaged" while she was technically "married". A divorce doesn't go through overnight.

I read it. He confirms that he was engaged to another woman while “separated” from his wife. IOW, he and his wife are still married legally. He doesn’t mention that his wife ever filed for divorce. And he himself did not file for divorce until after his engagement to another woman.

He says his wife asked for the separation. The question is: Why? So far, he hasn’t claimed that his wife was betraying him. Could it be that he was being unfaithful to her then? Who knows. But, he should’ve known better.

Yeah, but he's a published, lecture-circuit, rising-star-in-the-Evangelical-firmament, Christian apologist (not just a "conservative"), and has staked his public life on the defense of biblical Christianity. He knows very well that it ain't OK by Christ.

Prophet Malachi: "God hates divorce."

Jesus Christ: "Any man who divorces his wife (except in the case of an unlawful union) and marries another, commits adultery."

That's if he marries the lovely Denise.

This is such a plaguing problem of powerful men. Public acclaim must boost the testosterone. Or nullify relevant patches of cerebral neocortex.

Interesting mess.

The college head previous to D’Sousa is one of the editors of World Mag. I read World mag and usually love it, but they do some shoddy reporting at times.

You know, I have been separated from The Estranged for umpity ump years. If I were to meet someone I would probably be at least infomally engaged before initiating divorce papers.

Men tend not to change situaions until there are other good reasons.

An honorable man doesn't make it his business to point out the moral shortcomings of others while banging some woman who was nine years old when said man married his current wife. It's also pretty clear he didn't just resign - he was no doubt told to, lest the college rightfully pressure him to return the 7 figure salary he collected while spending his time attending to his own personal business rather than the school's. Not only is he an adulterer, his love interest is one as well, and she's been married all of 10 months. The man disgusts me - just another charlatan fleecing the flock while completely ignoring the message that he touts.

Well, first, if you're a public figure - politician, tv-personality, public speaker - then you're away from your spouse a lot, in most cases. And second, you've got the women who are attracted to an influential, confident, older man and make it clear they're very available. (I myself have noted the appeal of Vice President Dick Cheney, not that it went anywhere, since we've never met.)

For some men (such as Dick Cheney, by all accounts) there's no woman but his wife, but many others succumb to circumstances. I'm sure this is true of some married women in similar situations, although the older woman-young guy scenario doesn't happen as often.

Interesting. I found (on a quick Google) only one source mentioning that Ms. Joseph II was married.

What if you’re wrong?...

You may be making judgements on things you know nothing about.. or worse making judgements on character assassination by democrats.. or even anarchists..

If you be wrong (in some aspect) then its you that are the charlatan.. be careful..
You wouldn’t want to be a drone in the collectivist HIVE would you?..
Nobody is perfect, accept for you and me.. that is..

And I’m not sure about you..

I hadn't heard about that. It looks like that might be true. A google search turned up several Left-wing sites that are all over this story now. If what they're saying is true - that she married in Dec. 2011 - then D'Souza's story just fell apart completely. He'll have to address that accusation, so we'll find out soon enough if it's really true...

That’s probably true for many people. But, in this case we have a guy who has been making a living on the Christian circuit, in charge of an Evangelical college, etc., not to mention the movie and everything else.

If he divorced the wife because he was the one betrayed, or if they both were faithful but his wife is with someone new herself, then (imho) him being engaged to someone else before divorce wouldn’t sound so terrible... But, if that were the case, he probably would’ve said so.

And now there are reports that the fiance is married, too. Don’t know how true they are yet, but it’s not looking good.

There's many more larger considerations to consider than looks, but good looks are a big plus.

(At least in the short run.)
