I wouldn’t doubt this level of mendacity from 0bama. However, IIRC the two SEALs were at the “annex” and Stevens died in the main building before what was left of the staff there escaped and went to the “annex.” If that’s true that puts a pretty big hole in this theory.
Stephens was asked by his small remaining American security team to stop running. They said they were no longer able to protect him with the assets they had remaining. The man giving testimony to Issa said Stephens understood and quit immediately. And this was before even more of his security was removed in the weeks following.
I remember a few weeks ago I heard that Glenn Beck had some
information that behind the scenes forces were trying to
get that blind sheik released. I could not listen to him
any more after that (clear channel went latino)so I do not
know where he went with that. This was a few weeks before
the Libya attack. Maybe others here know more about what
Beck had to say than I do.
I haven’t heard Glenn Beck since he left Fox.
He was on the radio for 3 hours just before Rush until a
few weeks ago. Then that station just up and went to a
spanish ESPN thing with no notice to listeners. Rush did
move to a station that I found, but don’t know where Beck
went. I don’t miss him enough to pay to see what he’s
got to say, but I know that some of the freepers here do
follow his programs. I just remember him saying that and
then hearing it from Fox news maybe, but it sure mad me
mad at the time. It’s just one of those things that keep
coming back and add to the drip that Libya seems to be.

The Obama administration is weighing the release of blind Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman — the spiritual adviser to the 1993 World Trade Center bombers — in a stunning goodwill gesture toward Egypt that has touched off a political firestorm, officials said yesterday.
The Egyptian government “asked for his release,” an administration source told The Post — and Rep. Peter King (R-LI) confirmed the request is being considered.

Newly elected Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, a member of the radical Muslim Brotherhood, has publicly vowed to press the United States to turn over the sightless sheik.
His incarceration was the subject of Arabic-language message-board rants two days before protesters stormed the US Embassy in Cairo and later killed the American ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, according to a Department of Homeland Security report obtained by Fox News.
They wrote he should be released, “even if it requires burning the embassy down with everyone in it.”
King and other congressional Republicans sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, saying, “The release of Abdel-Rahman or any terrorist who plots to kill innocent Americans would be seen for what it is: a sign of weakness and a lack of resolve by the United States and its president.”

A few days ago Drudge linked to a story about al Zawahiri or whatever his name is and him calling for more video protests like occurred in Libya. What occurred in Libya was not about a video protest.
I have to agree with those who have said that this doesn't sound like a plausible kidnapping attempt. It would be a lot easier to intercept a vehicle than to send the estimated 125-200 heavily armed jihadis to assault a compound. Two compounds. Stevens did have meetings off site normally but he chose to have them all in house on 9-11 because it was 9-11. He also had to take a vehicle to get to and from the airport.
I still think the biggest prize was the intel we lost that they would have to breach and search both compounds to be sure they got.

...I seem to remember some photos showing the location of the consulate and annex...part of the long article in the UK Daily Mail....had details about the security and time line....was posted a couple of times on FR treads.
Even if it's not, Obama still framed the private American citizens who made the mohammed film in response to the attack.

My guess is whatever was planned was screwed up by the two ex-military men coming to help and turning it into a firefight.....I doubt that. Just figure the plot was to kidnap the Ambassador, set up by the MB, who had Al Quaida groups hired to do the deed. As is par for these animals, they took the pay, smirked to each other and killed him inflicting damage on the US and Obama and nothing will or can be done about it. They are back in power.

Who would watch such trash? It wasn't even "bad" enough in some way to be "good", like some of the movies replayed on Mystery Science Theater 3000 (if you remember that nonsense).

The film didn't destroy Stevens. No, that was planned. The Egyptian protests were part of general Sept. 11 celebration of a sorts, though I might believe that someone there fed that info (the existence of that horrible video) to people there, to deliberately inflame them, to give excuse for rioting against a U.S. embassy --- but more importantly to GIVE COVER for the Islamists murderous plans in Libya, with the hope that the "prairie fire" of discontent & violence would re-erupt in Egypt in a big way, too.
Agree. Also, if you’re heavily armed & outnumber your opponent, you storm the building and go room by room searching if your goal is to kidnap . You don’t set fire to the building as your 1st act, unless your goal is to kill him.

They knew the ambassador was there. They had attacked before. They wanted to take him out.
The Libyans did not know the CIA was there as well, with the two “contractors.” They were not expecting anyone to shoot back.
It is pretty simple.
As much as I want Obama gone, I don’t think he would stoop that low. It doesn’t help him one bit.
